WEDNESDAY NIGHT LIVE BEGINS SEPTEMBER 21ST —REGISTER NOW FOR ACTIVITY CHOICES!Wednesday nights at SHPC are something kids in K-4th don't wanna miss! In addition tothe opportunity to gather with other families and friends for dinner, we've also gotsome exciting new programming to tell you about! Elementary students will meet inthe FMC from 6:30-7:30 p.m., and for the weeks of Sept. 21, 28 + Oct. 5 & 19, theyget to choose the activity they'd like to do for the 4-week session. We've got a theaterworkshop for those interested in drama, chimes and singing for those interested inmusic, a sacraments class for those wanting to learn more about Baptism and Com-munion, or crafts for the artsy types. Groups are assigned as requests are received.After that? Beginning October 26th, and continuing through November 2, 16 and 30,we’ll meet at the same time and place, but focus on Christmas pageant rehearsals.We'll wrap everything up on December 7th with a Christmas party. Fall Foundations FunFoundations, the Bible study group geared towards couples with young families, kicksoff class on Wednesday, September 21st from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in room 7. Join us for din-ner catered by Chef Beth beforehand!. Childcare is available for babies through pre-schoolers, and Wednesday Night Live programming is available for elementary kiddos(registration required for ongoing attendance). We will be studying the Walls smallgroup curriculum to follow the sermon series for the first 6 weeks. SHPC Preschool 25th AnniversaryThis coming fall will be the 25th anniversary of Shepherd of the Hills PresbyterianPreschool. We could not be more excited to have a fitting celebration for the manyfamilies that we have served and the many more that we have yet to serve.

The preschool will be extending an open invitation to allchurch members and past, present, and future students ofthe preschool to come join in.

Our board is looking for a few volunteers to assist in thefestivities! The SHPC Worship Choir and Orchestrawill be presenting Tom Fettke and MaxLucado's "One Incredible Moment" onSunday December 18th at the 9:30 &

11:00 services. We're looking for addi-tional choir members and instrumental-ists for the orchestra. Cantata choirrehearsal will begin September

22nd and run from 7 - 7:45p.m. in the sanctuary. Orchestrawill join us for 2 Saturday rehearsals onDec. 10th and 17th. Orchestral playersneed to have several years experience

In the wakeof the recentand ongoingfires in theAustin andBastrop ar-eas, Shep-herd of the Hills has partnered withAustin Disaster Relief Network to helpcoordinate an ongoing relief effort and aidcollection going out to those who havebeen seriously affected by the fire.

First We ask that you continue to pray forthose who have lost so much and for thefire fighters who are still on the fire linestoday. As you pray, ask that God's HolySpirit embrace and comfort those who arehurting and to strengthen those who arethe first responders.

Second Currently SHPC is receiving do-nations for immediate distribution of

diapers, baby food :: adult food (non-per-ishable) :: individual bottles of waterand/or Gatorade :: work gloves :: trashcans and heavy-duty trash bags :: Cloroxwipes :: kennels for dogs :: gifts for kids

Our Sunday school program continues togrow, so we're looking for morepeople to join our team and investin the lives of our children! UpStreet is adynamic curriculum with lots of varietybased on 36 virtues that are learned on a3-year schedule. If you are interested inbeing a shepherd (a small group leaderfor 6-8 children) at either our 9:30 or 11:00UpStreet program, please contact ChrisGordon at [email protected] or 892-3580,ext. 113. We have opportunities for you tobe a part of a team and share a groupwith another shepherd (a weekly commit-ment isn't necessary). We are also lookingfor substitutes who can step in when acurrent shepherd needs a Sunday off. Weprovide the lesson plan, training and allnecessary materials. You print the lessonplan and bring lots of love for the kiddos!

copy of the questions to be asked willbe provided. The comprehensive listthese calls will create will help usreach our goal of establishing a

church-school partnership with eachof the 206 elementary schools in

Central Texas.
