Conscious Discipline Tip of the Week
When You Walk in the Door at the End of the Work Day...When transitioning from work to home,
prepare your inner state so you can walk past the shoes on the floor and the dirty dishes on the
counter, and connect with your family FIRST.

North Bay Week in Review
Go to North Bay’s webpage under North Bay News for more on news from this week!
HEALTH TIP!! From the Mississippi State Department of Health (11/30/17): Missis-
sippi's influenza-like illness rate has increased sharply in the first half
of November, and is now double the rate at this time last year. Reports
of influenza-like illness by healthcare providers help track the spread
of flu each year, and the current increase is a strong reminder that flu
protection is important now. Flu shots take about two weeks to reach
full effectiveness, so vaccination against the flu today can help protect
you as peak flu season nears. Flu protection is especially important for
young children, who are more likely to suffer complications from the
flu.
Stay protected against flu ahead of the holidays by: getting a flu shot,
washing your hands frequently and thoroughly and staying home if you
are sick.
For more about flu in Mississippi, flu shots and staying protected, go
to msdh.ms.gov.
In music this week with Mrs. Rustin: All grade levels listened to "Hoedown" from the
balet Rodeo composed by Aaron Copland. Our instructional focus included "introduction" and
"ABA form". We activated the lesson with cowboy finger puppets (which danced during the A
sections). Mrs. Eppes' first grade class is pictured posing with their cowboy counterparts.
In Mrs. LeBlanc’s 3rd Grade class: Imagination Station science activity building model backbones
for our study of vertebrates.
