David Plunk returns to the helm as head women’s soccer coach for his fourth season.

In the 2009 season, his team went 7-10-1. He helped guide YellowJackets midfielder Kirby Posey to the ASC Offensive Player of the Year honors. Also during the 2009 season, Plunk’s squad took home the Silver Merit of Honor for Good Sportsmanship.

The YellowJackets were 2-15-1 during an injury-plagued 2010 season.

Plunk took over the UMHB men’s pro-gram in 1997, a year after the team finished 2-16. In his nine years at the helm, he led the Cru to four postseason appearances while compiling a 69-87-3 record. Additionally, he served as an assistant professor in the Ex-ercise and Sports Science Department. Most recently, he served at Gainesville High School as head coach for the boy’s soccer team, and as cross country coach for both the

David Plunk, Head Women’s Soccer Coachboys’ and girls’ teams.

Prior to his nine years at UMHB, Plunk played soccer at Hardin-Simmons Universi-ty and graduated with a degree in All-Level Physical Education and Secondary Spanish in 1992.

He earned a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology and Bilingual Education in 1996 from Texas A&M-Kingsville. He worked one season at HSU as an assistant coach in the men’s soccer program before taking over as the head girl’s soccer coach at Azle High School. Plunk has also been a professor in the LeTourneau University kinesiology de-partment since 2008.

David and his wife Sheila reside in Longview and they have three daughters: Katie, 19, Kendra, 13 and Maci, 9. Katie is a sophomore on the LeTourneau women’s soccer team.

Brooke Kincade returns to the LeTourneau sideline in 2011 for her second season as the YellowJackets’ assistant coach, and her first as a full-time employee of the university.

After completing her four-year LeTourneau career in 2009, Kincade served the team as a graduate assis-tant in 2010. Kincade ranks second on the school’s all-time record for games played with 77.

While working on her master’s degree, Kincade was also a member of the LeTourneau tennis team during the 2010 and 2011 spring seasons.

She went 13-5 in singles play and was named the ASC’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year in women’s tennis while hold-ing down a 4.0 GPA in pursuit of her Master’s in Business Adminstration.

During her four-year soccer career, Kincade started in a university-record 77 matches. As a defender and mid-fielder, she tallied seven goals and four assists during her career from 2006 to 2009. She received her bachelor’s de-gree in business administration in December, 2009 with a minor in marketing.
