I. General Event Information

1.The 2 011 Kyoto 500 is dened as a s ingle ev ent in the Li ve f or Speed simulation software

using the Fo rmula V8 ( FO8) car on the Kyoto Oval (KY1) circuit.

2.The 2 011 Kyoto 500 i s an e vent run as pa rt of the 2 011 L FSCART Series, oering points for all

participants t owards t he 2011 LFSCART Series.3.Bumpdrafting is no t permitted during this or any o ther LFSCART Eve nt.

II. Kyoto 5 00 Car Restrictions

1.Drivers are r estricted in the t yre co mpounds that they m ay u se i n the Kyoto 500. C ars not

using an allowed compound will be b lack ag ged and must change t o an allowed

compound.

a) Only R2 compound tyres m ay b e u sed throughout all sessions.

III. Entry Procedure1. There ar e 3 0 st art positions available i n the Kyoto 500. These sp ots are aw arded based on

qualifying results.

a) All drivers w ho qualify a re e ligible to ll in for a d river unable to a ttend on race day.

2.Car Number 01 is reserved for the p revious LFSCART Series Ch ampion. Car Number 00 is

reserved for the d efending Kyoto 5 00 ch ampion. These ar e t he o nly nu mbers that may

follow a d river. All other numbers must follow the t eam.

3. All teams and drivers en tered in the LF SCART Series ar e a utomatically en tered into the

Kyoto 500.

a)A team and its numbers are au tomatically r eserved for the Kyoto 5 00. A driver must post

in the ap propriate si gnups t hread to conrm which number they w ill be u sing.

4.Drivers ar e se mi-automatically a ccepted after fullling one o f the f ollowing requirements:

a)3 rd or better Driver's C hampionship classication in the 2008 through 2010 LFSCART

seasons.

b)Past Champion of the Kyoto 50 0.

5.All drivers n ot automatically a ccepted from III.4 will be a ccepted after completing all of the

following:

a)A hotlap uploaded to http://www.lfsworld.net using the FO 8 o n KY1 w ithin 103% of the

World Record

b)A total online driven distance equal to or greater t han 12,340 miles / 20,000 kilometers

c) A total online l aps of KY1 w ith the F O8 e qual to or greater than 300 l aps. All drivers,

regardless o f automatic a ccep tance, are required to fulll this r equirement.

d)Attendance a t two or more Ocial Practice S essions. A ll drivers, regardless of automatic

acceptance, are req uired to fulll this r equirement.6. All cars ar e si ngle-driver cars. A “Team” is a g rouping of at least one but no more tha n ve

cars.

a)Teams wishing to enter more t han ve car s as a t eam must create a s econd team, and

designate e ach team dierently.

b)No teams en tering specically f or the Kyoto 500 w ill be e ligible f or LFSCART Team 's

Championship, nor the LFSCART Owner's Championship. O nly car numbers entered as

full-time f or the LF SCART Series w ill score p oints for Team and Owner's Championship.c)All LFSCART teams may ent er to the Kyoto 500 maximum only for the Kyoto 500.

Additional team numbers will be t reated as Kyoto 500 o nly n umbers, as such m ust not

conict with an y LFSCART number.

IV. Car Skins

1.All skins m ust fulll the requirements as sp ecied in the NDR sporting code, Article II.5, with

the following additions:

a)Cars en tered by a t eam may b e p resen ted in substantially d ierent liveries

b)The d river's name an d national ag must be p laced onto both sides of the en gine co ver.

c) If two or more cars o f a t eam have substantially i dentical liveries, the rear wing end plates

shall have d ierent colors.

d)If a t eam uses m ultiple groupings, each grouping must have substantially d ierent

liveries t o each grouping.

2.Failure t o run a p roper skin in qualifying will result in 0.01 se conds b eing added to the nal

lap time o f the r uns w here t he i ncorrect skin was used .

3.Failure to run a proper s kin in the race will result in a DT penalty.

V. O cial Practice Ses sions

1.Ocial Practice S essions ar e r equired to ensure t hat all drivers ar e a dequately p repared for

all race procedures an d can race cleanly an d safely o n the O val.

actions and result sucient. G enerally, nishing a r ace n o more t han one l ap down with no

notable incidents w ill result in credit. B eing involved in an avoidable incident, failure to

follow procedures, a D NF, and other misbehavior may r esult in no session credit. C redit may

be given or revoked with or without justication by t he administration.

3.Practice S essions w ill either be o pen-practice, or races o f varying length.a) In order to save t ime, the O cial Qualifying format will not be u sed, and instead an

automated system will be u sed.

1.Each driver will have o ne attempt to complete one o utlap, two hotlaps, and one

inlap. Fa stest hotlap sets positions.

4.No incidents f rom practice sess ions m ay see a p enalty ap plied to the K yoto 500 Qualifying

or Race. A driver may b e e xcluded from participating after actions in a sessi on, but no grid

penalties o r other similar penalties m ay b e a pplied.5. Protests regarding incidents in Practice sess ions m ust be su bmitted within 36 hours of

sess ion completion, and must follow all standards f or protests.

VI. Qualifying Procedure

1. There a re t wo days f or qualifying. The rst shall be t itled “Pole D ay” and the seco nd “ Bump

Day” Q ualifying sh all take p lace o n t he w eekend preceding t he Kyoto 5 00 race d ay.

a)“Pole Day” will run for 6 hours on the Saturday prior to Race Day, starting at 17:00 UTC

and running until 23:00 UTC. A run must be st arted during the al lowed time t o be val id.

Only p ole p osition is l ocked in after this day. Po le can not be t aken on Bump Day u nless

the P ole driver withdraws h is t ime.

b)“Bump Day” will run for 6 h ours on the S unday p rior to Race D ay, starting at 17:00 UTC

and running until 23:00 UTC. A run must be st arted during the al lowed time t o be val id.

2. A driver has t hree attempts per day t o set a f our-lap average.

a)An attempt consists of 2 Warmup Laps, 4 Timed Laps, and 1 Inlap. The aver age o f the 4

Timed Laps i s t he driver's q ualifying time.

b)An attempt erases t he p revious t ime p ermanently w hen the d river starts hi s r st timed

lap. The a ttempt is cha rged (no longer available) if the d river completes O ne Ti med Lap

and the rst sector of the seco nd Timed Lap, regardless of reason for stopping the r un.

c) A driver may w ave o his attempt at any t ime d uring the r un. I f it is before t he Fi rst Split

of Lap Tw o, the at tempt is not charged. A wave-o should b e com municated via a text

or voice ch at message such as “WAVE OFF” or “ABORT RUN” or similar substitute.

d)A driver must request to be p laced in the q ualifying queue, and wait to be cal led out by

race a dministration. A driver may e nter and leave the server as n eeded. Excess ive

connections and disconnections may r esult in a t emporary b an. LFS Remote w ill be

enabled, and you will be a ble t o track yo ur place i n queue o nline.e)Should no driver be i n queue or on track f or a r un, the tr ack w ill be o pen for free practice

until another driver is r eady t o take a ru n.

f)Should two or more drivers b e ti ed on average lap times, the fastest lap will break t he ti e.

If the fastest lap is t ied, the second lap is u sed . I f all four laps are t ied on speed, then the

driver who set the r un rst will be aw arded the h igher placement.

g)A driver m ust successfully e nter pitlane on his i nlap under his ow n power on his r un.

Failure t o do so w ill see 0 .02 seco nds ad ded to the nal lap time o f the r un.VII. Race Procedure

1. The r ace will run with no time l imit, for 268 racing laps, and 2 pace and formation laps.

2.Drivers must be i n server and ready t o be st acked into grid formation 20 minutes b efore

scheduled start of the pace laps.

3.The race will start by w ay of three-wide rolling start.

a)Drivers s hould be in single le through turn 1 on the rst pace lap, then sort into three

wide b etween Turns 1 and 2.

b)Drivers ar e to leave approximately 2 car widths t o the car(s) alongside in the row, and

leave 8 -10 ca r lengths t o the ca r ahead.

c)Tyre w arming is prohibited at any t ime d uring the p ace l aps.

d)The l eader must hold saf ety car speed until the g reen ag is shown. When the g reen ag

ies, overtaking is permitted. N o green ag, “SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED” or “SAFETY CAR IN

THIS LAP” will indicate a w aved-o start and the eld should hold formation until the

next l ap, where the st art will be tried again.

1.Any car repetitively f ound to be cau sing a w ave-o will be sen t to the b ack o f the

grid.

4.After taking the ch equered ag at the e nd of the r ace, all drivers must slow down through

Turn 1 a nd complete an i nlap back t o p itlane. Speed should not exceed approximately 190

kph / 118 m ph after Turn 1 o n this inlap.

drivers m ust follow the S C into pitlane, or will be issued a 1 -lap holding penalty. P itlane

speed must be o bserved. D rivers ar e f ree to pit during this p rocedure a s l ong as p itlane

is op en. C ars i n the SC queue m ust stay as cl ose t o the outer wall of pitlane as p ossible.

3.When the a dministration feels t he co urse i s r eady f or racing again, it will indicate th at the

Safety C ar is com ing in, and the S C will extinguish i ts l ights. A messag e sayi ng “ SAFETY CARIN PITS – LEADER CONTROLS FIELD” will appear and the t rack s tatus will change t o “ T:

RESTART”.

4.The safety ca r will acce lerate away from the eld exiting Turn 2 on its i nlap, and pull into

pitlane exiting Turn 3.

1.The S C may n ot be o vertaken until it crosses b elow the w hite l ine m arking the ap ron

of the co urse.

2.The leader must maintain SC pace u ntil such time that he decides t o accelerate aftera p redened point on the cou rse m arked with green cones.

3.Once t he l eader accelerates, he m ust not slow down again.

b)There i s t o be n o overtaking before y our car crosses t he st art/nish line o n a r estart.

Overtaking before the l ine w ill incur a D T penalty.

5.At any t ime o n a r estart, receiving no Green Flag message, “SAFETY CAR DEPLOYED”, or “SC

IN THIS LAP” appearing on screen means t he r estart was ab orted and will be r etried the v ery

next lap.

6. If a car spins or otherwise can not maintain Safety C ar speed, they m ay b e o vertaken and

must rejoin the q ueue i n the p osition in which they r ecover.

7.Cars exi ting pit lane m ay b e o vertaken by ca rs s till on the tr ack before i t crosses t he se cond

safety car l ine.

8.If the sa fety ca r is d eployed in the nal lap, all racing is t o cease and the order will be taken

from the o rder at the t ime o f safety car deployment.

9.If the saf ety car is l eading the eld at the time o f the c hequered ag, it will maintain pacing

speed until it returns to pitlane. Th e eld must continue ar ound, not exceeding 190 k ph /

118 mph. The n o overtaking under saftey car r ule i s l ifted after the ch equered ag has b een

collected .

X. Red Flag

1.A red ag may b e u sed when the r ace d irector feels that conditions on course ar e u nsafe f or

Safety C ar conditions, or if an incident involves m ore tha n approximately 8 0% of the eld.

2. Upon issuance of the red ag, all racers s hall continue around the track at greatly r educed

pace and park i n line at t he start/nish line, or other d esignated point. Exce pt in cases o f

force majeure (such as se rver failure or major incident blocking the circuit) the eld will be

under Safety C ar control before the r ed ag is d isplayed.a)A red ag during racing means t hat all work o n a car shall cease. I f you are i n the p it lane

when the r ed ag is issued, you are p ermitted to carry o ut pit stop level service.

b)Chat is exp ressly f orbidden at all times d uring red ags. Any l ines yo u say af ter the rst

will incur a tw o-point penalty t o the team. A nything said during the grid setting is al so

included in this.

3.If the r ed ag occurs w ithin the rst two (2) scored laps o f the race, the race will be

completely r estarted over the o riginal distance. A fter the rst 2 sco red laps, the t iming andscoring system will not stop during a r ed ag for an incident, and after the si tuation has

been resolved, the race will resume a s an SC restart..

4. Heavily d amaged cars may b e g iven assistance t o return to the p its for service. These car s

will be ch arged with a o ne l ap penalty f or repairing under red ag with assistance. C ars t hat

can continue u nder their own power without assistance m ust wait until the r ace r eturns to

Safety Car st atus.

a)Any car who enters p it lane a nd carries o ut service d uring the r ed ag without getting

outside a ssistance will receive a S G penalty.

5.Cars that would be w aved around under the SC will be r eleased to go around the eld a

planned time b efore t he saf ety car resumes.

6. Please see “ Server Failure” for procedures f or when the server has cr ashed.

XI. Protests

1.Protests m ust be sub mitted within 36 hours of race co mpletion.

2. Protests must be su bmitted from drivers i nvolved in the i ncident. Drivers submitting

protests no t involving their car, or that stand to benet and are d eemed to submit protests

of other incidents so lely f or that r eason are subject t o penalties.

Code.

XII. O cial Classication

1. All drivers an d cars w hich complete a qualifying attempt for the Kyoto 500 w ill be g iven

points, and all cars w hich start the K yoto 500 race w ill be c lassi ed in the resu lts . The o nly

exception is i f a driver or car gets d isqualied, then that d river is p laced behind all other

drivers an d is n ot eligible for any p oints f rom that round.

2.In the ocial results t able, all drivers r unning at t he nish will have “ Running” placed as t hereason. Reasons for Not nishing are as f ollows:

a)Accident: This d river was i nvolved in an accident and was u nable to continue t he race.

b)Suspension: This dr iver was un able t o return to pits du e t o excess ive su spension damage.

c)Clutch: This dr iver was un able t o continue d ue t o an overheated clutch.

d)Fuel: This dri ver was u nable t o continue d ue t o running out of fuel.

e)Connection: The d river lost connection or timed out from the ser ver

f) Retired: This d river did not nish w ith any o ther applicable r eason.g)Penalty: The d river was d isqualied.

3. Drivers who time o ut or lose co nnection to the ser ver while r acing may n ot rejoin the r ace i n

progress. A driver who has t imed out or lost connection during the r ace m ust not rejoin the

server during the r ace.

4.If a t eam retires w ithout permission of race control from outside o f a p it garage, they will

incur a p enalty acco rding to the L FSCART scale.

XIII.Championship Points

1.There Kyoto 500 sc ores f or the f ollowing LFSCART ch ampionships:

a)The LF SCART Driver's Championship. A ll drivers w ill earn these p oints.

b)The LFSCART Teams Championship.

1.Only t he t op two nishing drivers of a t eam may sc ore p oints t o this c hampionship.

2. If a t eam has on ly o ne d river at a r ound, that team will not score an y Team s'

Championship Points i n that round.

3.Only f ull-time LFSCART teams w ill score in this cha mpionship.

c)The LFSCART Owner's Championship.

1. Only f ull-time LFSCART entries w ill score in this ch ampionship.

the D NQ points. All drivers who are cl assied and not disqualied will score p oints.

XIV.Server Fai lure

1. Should the m ain server for the Kyoto 500 e xperience a m ass disconnect, or an inability t oconnect, the r ace w ill be su spended.

2.There w ill be a d ecision made as t o whether or not to abandon the r emainder of the r ace o r

return to the o riginal server or move to a n ew server.

a)The d ecision will be posted in the Kyoto 500 forum and the server i f possible.

3.A failure during the race will see the order f or a restart taken from the order at the last lap

completed by a ll cars prior to the server issues.

4.The seco nd race will start behind the safety ca r as a standard safety car r estart, with cars

credited with the l aps c ompleted at the b ack-count. Time g aps will be e rased.

a)The l aps w ill be cr edited to the ca rs i n the nal results, and the summation of the P art 1

laps p lus t he resu lt of Part 2 will be totaled to get the resu lts.XV.Communication

1.Race administration will also be a vailable i n a v oice ch at server during the co urse o f the

race.

a)All drivers m ust be in voice ch at and able to listen to race administration commands.

Failure to be in designated voice chat serve r will result in inability to participate i n the

event.

2. Blocking of in-game m essag es i s p rohibited and will result in a w arning to the d river tounblock m essag es. If the m essag es r emain blocked, a D T p enalty w ill be i ssued to the d river.

3.Chat is p rohibited during any sessi on. I n qualifying, minimal chat is al lowed, for procedural

statements, and a d river on a r un may b lock m essag es. In the r ace, a D T p enalty i s issued.

Repeat oenses may m erit an SG penalty.

XVI.Miscellaneous

1.Failure to f ormat a d river name co rrectly w ill result in a D T p enalty t o the d river. Pl ease see

the N DR Sporting Code f or the co rrect format.

2. The a dministration reserve the r ight to deny e ntry i nto the e vent to any d river at any t ime

for any r eason.

3.The a dministration reserve the right to modify t his do cument at any t ime f or any r eason it

deems t.
