    IN A SMASH-MOUTH conference,Breedlove was one defender most Big

    Rivers backs did

    not want to face.

    He helped the

    Boilermakers

    end a 12-year

    postseason

    drought. He also

    was a force on of-fense, helping RB

    Dontae Pryor become

    the schools all-time

    leading rusher.

    HONORS: Class 3A rst team all-state,

    rst team all-Big Rivers

    WHATS NEXT:Attend Air Force and

    play on the defensive line for them.

    FUNNIEST TEAMMATE:Alphonso Ino-

    cencio, because he can imitate anyone

    and its super funny!

    SENIOR / DEFENSIVE END

    BROKEN BONES in his foot could notkeep this dominating force on the

    sidelines for too

    long. He came

    back after just

    two weeks to help

    lead SC to the 2A

    seminals.

    SEASON STATS:

    85 tackles, sixsacks.

    WHATS AHEAD: Play-

    ing college football

    and then becoming a

    sports broadcaster.

    FAVORITE SIDELINE REPORTER: Erin

    Andrews, because she knows her stuff.

    SUPERSTITIONS: I always have to wearmy eyeblack the same way, always sit

    in the same seat on the bus ride and

    chew on a bottle cap until we are ready

    to walk to the eld.

    QUOTE: It was a great four years, but

    this year was awesome making the

    seminals and proving all the doubters

    wrong.

    RYAN WILBURELMWOOD/BRIMFIELD

    SENIOR / DEFENSIVE LINE

    Underclassmen voted Wilbur as thetoughest teammate to replace next

    season. This sea-

    son, the two-way

    senior linemen

    helped the team

    to one of the

    states highest

    scoring offense as

    well as one of thestingiest defense.

    IN A DISAPPOINTING season for the

    Storm, Weidner was steady on both

    lines. Showing

    his versatility, he

    tossed a 80-yardtouchdown pass

    against eventual

    Class 2A state

    champion, Mor-

    rison.

    Taylor. The middle linebacker had a

    knack for shed-

    ding linemen and

    punishing ballcarriers. He ended

    the season with

    the second-most

    tackles in a single

    season and a ca-

    reer at Macomb.

    STEVIE MAURERDEER CREEK-MACKINAW

    SENIOR / LINEBACKER

    MAURER HELPED the Chiefs become

    the rst Heart of Illinois team to cap-

    ture back-to-back

    conference titles.

    The senior wasa steady force

    on the defense,

    leading the area

    in sacks.

    SEASON STATS:

    15.5 sacks for

    145 yards lost, four

    fumble recoveries,

    one interception.

    HONORS: First team all-Heart of Ilinois.

    HIGHLIGHT OF SEASON: Beating the

    defending 3A state champs, Illini West

    FAVORITE FOOD:Any pizza.

    FUNNIEST MOMENT: When offensive

    lineman, Logan Stoops scored a touch-

    down against Farmer City Blue Ridge.

    QUOTE: It was an awesome feeling

    to win back-to-back conference

    championships and have undefeated

    regular seasons.

    JUSTIN KOHLERS T A R K C O U N T YJUNIOR / DEFENSIVE BACK

    Some of the smartest defensive backs

    are also quarterbacks the same can

    be spoken with

    Kohler. Catalyst

    of the offense

    he also played avital role in the

    defense down

    the stretch. His

    interception in the

    nal two minutes

    of the 2A quarter-

    nals against Mercer

    County lifted Stak to

    the seminals for the

    second time in four seasons.

    SEASON STATS: 34 tackles, three

    interceptions

    FAVORITE ESPN PERSONALITY: Lee

    Corso he never fails to make me

    laugh.

    SUPERSTITIONS: Same socks, dress in

    the shower, and pray.

    QUOTE: I had a lot of fun especially inthe postseason. We accomplished a lot

    and made school history.

    It would be hard to nd a more speedy

    guy on this defense, if not the entire

    area. Usually the

    last line of de-

    fense, not many

    backs or receiversmade it past the

    Princes speedster.

    HIGHLIGHT OF

    SEASON:Tackling the

    option back against

    West Central to win the game.FAVORITE CLASS: PE with coach Jon

    Carruthers.

    TOUGHEST PLAYER FACED:

    Moosehearts whole team.

    FAVORITE COLLEGE TEAM:Texas

    QUOTE: It was a good season. Our goal

    was to make the playoffs and thats whatwe did. I hope to come out next season

    and take the team back to the playoffs.

    The Patriots nished the season with

    the longest losing streak in the area

    (23) but not for a

    lack of effort by

    Moore. The under-

    sized linebackerled the Patriots in

    tackles, sacks and

    tackles for loss,

    earning him team

    defensive player

    of the year.

    Fulton to just 63 yards of offense.

    Paxson was akey piece for
