In His Hands - This presentation will be a demonstration on the potter's wheel by Rachel Norris and the sharing of her personal testimony of our Father's transforming power. First we will look at how pottery is made and then how that process parallels the Christian life, followed by Rachel's testimony. Friday only. Presenter: Rachel Norris and her husband Bob own Joy Pottery in Bryan, Texas, where she makes and sells handmade stoneware. Rachel has an MFA (Masters of Fine Arts) from UNT in Denton. She has been a potter for 30 years and sharing her testimony with her wheel for 18 years. Transept Trivia - What is one person’s trivia may be a tenet of the faith to another. Join us as we explore bits and pieces of the Church’s past—its structures, hymns and customs—to see what we can learn about rich heritage. Saturday only. Presenter: Reverend Ken Fields is the Vice Rector of St. Martin’s. Prior to coming to Houston, Ken was in Alabama where he started a church from scratch, was the editor of the diocesan newspaper, Diocesan Deputy for Clergy Deployment and Development, and Provincial Coordinator for the National Church for Campus Ministry. For several years he wrote a column for The Anglican Digest called “Transept Trivia.” Finding Joy in the Journey of Life - It has been said that contagious joy should be the distinguishing factor in the life of a Christian. Does that phrase describe you or are you running on empty in the joy category? Life can be challenging with all of its ups and downs, stages and phases, but joy can be present through it all. Come and find out how. Saturday only. Presenter: Olga Wright Griffin is a speaker and author of Bible studies that encourage and give hope to women of all ages. Her passion is teaching women Biblical principles that can be life changing if allowed to penetrate their hearts. She is the founder of Heart Hope Ministry in Vail, Colorado, and blogs about everyday life with the Lord at http://hearthopebyolga.blogspot.com Proper Nutrition and Exercise: It can be a part of your life! - An interactive workshop designed to educate attendees in both good eating habits and proper exercise techniques to overcome common obstacles in attaining fitness and life goals. Saturday only. Presenter: Ken Belveal is a certified personal fitness trainer with 19 years experience in Houston helping people lose weight, live pain-free and attain their fitness goals for a lifetime through education and mentoring. He is the owner of www.mobile- workout.com . He lives with the loves of his life: his wife Doe, who helps him attain their life goals; his 11-year-old son Ethan, who doesn’t have any goals; and his 6-year-old daughter Gabby, who doesn’t know what goals are, but definitely knows how to manipulate her father to get what she wants. From Despair to Hope – A Journey of Healing - There are times in life when we face situations where we feel beyond hope and totally beyond the reach of God. During this workshop, we will be talking about two powerful Bible healing stories which show that we are all loved by God and never beyond his reach. Come and be reminded that God loves you and desires to be alongside you through every life circumstance. During this workshop, there will also be time for you to rest and receive healing prayers to strengthen and encourage you on your journey. Saturday only. Presenter: Reverend Kate Picot grew up in the beautiful English countryside of Cornwall in the UK. She swapped this for the concrete jungle at age 18, to begin nurse training in central London. She worked as a nurse for sixteen years and for ten years specialised in Hospice Care. She is also trained in Christian counselling and has travelled to Africa several times during her nursing career. For some time Kate sensed a call to be ordained and in 2007 she began her seminary training at Ridley Hall in Cambridge, UK. As a deacon, she moved to Houston in February 2010, becoming a priest last October at St Martin’s Houston, where she now serves within the pastoral care team and lives out her passion for healing ministry. Presen t er : Reverend J immy Grace is Canon for Christian Formation at Christ Church Cathedral where he is responsible for oversight of the Cathedral’s education and formation programs for adults, youth, and children. Prior to attending Virginia Theological Seminary, where he graduated in 2005, Jimmy served as Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (1999 – 2002) at Trinity Episcopal Church, Houston. He was ordained in 2005 and served as Associate Rector at Epiphany, Houston from 2005 – 2010 where he was also President of the Board for Epiphany Community Health Outreach Services (ECHOS). Jimmy is a member of the Diocesan Commission on Ministry and one of the Bishop’s Examining Chaplains who certify the preparation of seminary graduates before ordination. He is married to Marla and they have three sons who keep their parents quite busy: James, William, and Henry. Susan has been married for 29 years and has two children.

Key to Balance – In this workshop you will develop an understanding of the relationships between Mind, Body and Spirit. Participants will learn how to resist the subconscious and learn tools to create supportive beliefs using modalities like PSYCH – K and Body Therapeutics. Saturday on ly . Pres en t er : Rever end Joy Daley was ordained in 1996 in S.H.E.S (Spirit Healer, Earth Stewards) International Ministry. Joy is a REIKI Master, Hypnotherapist, PSYCH-K Facilitator, Reflexologist and Intuitive Body worker. S t i t ch ing fo r the Glory o f God - All skill levels are invited to join us to stitch an ECW butterfly ornament ($35 kit fee includes threads, needle, hand-painted canvas) or bring your own needlepoint projects to work on. We will briefly discuss our ministry, show you examples of our church projects, then teach some decorative stitches for the ECW butterfly ornament or help you with your needlepoint projects. Friday and Saturday . Each workshop is limited to 12 participants. Presen t er s : S t . Clare ’ s Need l epo in t Gui ld - The mission of St. Clare’s Needlepoint Guild of St. Martin’s is to nurture the art of needlework to the Glory of God. Needlepoint is taught to all ages and skill levels, and the Guild works on projects to beautify the church. Items are created to raise funds for projects and to provide assistance to groups within the church and in the Houston community. The guild meets weekly to stitch on our projects. Explor ing the Hymnal – Come sing hymns known and not-so-known with a crowd of enthusiasts. No prior experience or ability necessary—just a love of singing with others. Saturday Workshop III Only. Presen t er : Dr. David Henning is the Director of Music and Parish Organist at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church. David earned the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Iowa, Iowa City. David has won a number of organ competitions, the most recent being the University of Michigan’s International Organ Playing Competition in 1998. David serves as Dean for the Houston Chapter of the American Guild of Organists and has been appointed Convener of the Texas District of the AGO. Brind ley Nature Tra i l – Camp Allen’s Brindley Trail (.75 miles) was the beginning of the Camp’s Conference Center trail system. It is named after Mel Brindley, the first Land Steward for Camp Allen when it was purchased in 1969. The trail begins on the north side of All Saints' Chapel and has several small bridges to help you cross seasonal streams. A guided tour of the trail will be offered on Friday only during Workshop I. Guests are welcome to enjoy self-guided tours of this trail or the two others anytime during your stay at Camp Allen.
