    L. Gary Boomer

    L. Gary Boomer is CEO of Boomer Consulting,Inc., an organization that provides planning and

    consulting services to leading accounting firms. The

    firms strategies chart a transformation road map that

    results in business growth through expanded services,

    improved processes, talent management and the

    leveraging of technology.

    Gary is recognized in the accounting profession as

    the leading authority on technology and firm man-

    agement. For over a decade he has been named by

    Accounting Todayas one of the 100 Most InfluentialPeople in Accounting. He is also a member ofInside

    Public Accountings 10 most recommended consultants.

    He consults and speaks around the globe on management and technology related

    topics including strategic and technology planning, compensation and developing

    a training/learning culture. He acts as a planning facilitator, provides coaching and

    serves on many advisory boards.

    He is the immediate past president of the Kansas Society of CPAs, a member of

    the AICPA Council and the accounting advisory board at Kansas State University.

    He is also a member of The Advisory Board, a group of leading consultants to the

    accounting profession. He is the past chairman of the AICPAs Information Technol-ogy Executive Committee and has also served on the AICPAs Academic and Career

    Development Executive Committee and the ACUTE Board of Directors.

    Gary is the creator of and a facilitator for The Boomer Technology Circles, exclu-

    sive groups of leading firms that join together to examine current issues and address

    common concerns about the management of technology within an accounting

    firm. Gary also hosts the CIO Advantage, a gathering of IT leaders from among the

    Boomer Technology Circles who are committed to accelerating individual perfor-

    mance.

    Gary is the author ofPerformance3 Management, Successful Technology ConsultingThe Boomer Advantageand a contributor to numerousBoomer Advantage Guides. He is

    also the author of Boomers Blueprint, a regular column inAccounting Today and

    publishes theBoomer Bulletin, a technology newsletter with worldwide circulation.

    In addition to accounting firm and small business consulting, he has consulted with

    IBM, Microsoft, Intuit, CCH, and Thomson on the design and marketing of ac-

    counting related software.

    Gary was previously a partner at the regional CPA firm of Varney & Associates.

    Mr. Boomer received his BS and MS degrees in accounting from Kansas State Uni-

    versity. He and his wife Mary have three children, Jeff, Jim and Katie.

    Sandra Wiley is COO and Shareholder with Boomer

    Consulting, Inc. She is a certified Kolbe trainer

    and assists clients in building teams, managing

    employee conflict and hiring staff.

    Sandra was ranked amongAccounting Todaymaga-

    zines 2010 Top 100 Most Influential People in Ac-counting for her extraordinary work and influence as

    a firm consultant.

    Kolbe

    Sandras Kolbe A Index reveals her to be a vision-

    ary leader who is gifted with the ability to tackle

    emerging as well as future challenges. She works with a sense of adventure, prefer-

    ring to focus upon the most essential facts in order to grasp a big picture view

    of any situation. Sandra relies upon her creativity and inspiration to cut through

    complexity and devise timely solutions while following her instincts to keep the shipmoving at all times (and improvising with precision when necessary.)

    Sandra is a naturally gifted public speaker who is noted for the energy and excite-

    ment she brings to an audience. At the same time, she adds a personal touch that

    Current Role

    Sandra directs Boomer Consulting, Inc.s annual Human Capital and Learning Sym-

    posium and serves as co-director of the Performance3 Academy. She has been in

    the Strategic Coach Entrepreneurial Team Program for 10 years and is responsible

    for communicating its concepts to clients and the Boomer staff.

    Sandra is regularly invited to speak at national conferences where she empowers

    audiences with new ideas and a sense of humor.

    She is a popular author who is frequently published by many trade journals including

    CPA Practice Management Report, Accounting Today, Accounting Web, The CPA Practice

    Management Forum, The CPA Report of South Carolina, Lagniappe of Louisiana and The

    Asset of Missouri Societies. She also contributes a regular column covering human

    resources to theBoomer Bulletin and penned an award winning marketing plan,

    Rebuilding the Community Bank, published by the Bank Marketing Association.

    Prior to joining Boomer Consulting, Inc., Sandra worked for over 16 years in the

    financial services industry in the areas of human resources, marketing/sales, training,

    and business development. She has developed and presented over 50 training pro-

    grams and numerous one-day seminars in human resources and marketing/sales. Shewas an officer of the American Institute of Banking and presented workshops titled

    Selling Bank Services and Customer Service Plus.

    Personal

    Sandra is a graduate of Friends University, in Wichita, Kansas, where she earned a

    bachelors degree in Human Resource Management. She also graduated with honors

    from the University Of Colorado School of Bank Marketing. She and her husband,

    Doug, make their home in Manhattan, Kansas (aka the Little Apple). They have

    three children: Charlie, Deanna and Sarah.

    Jim Boomer is CIO and Shareholder with Boomer

    Consulting, Inc. His responsibilities include the Per-

    formance3 Management Program, the Boomer

    Technology Circles, strategic technology consulting,

    and internal project management. He also manages the

    internal technology team at Boomer Consulting, Inc.

    including development efforts for the Boomer Knowl-edge Network.

    Jim was recently selected for the 2011 CPA Practice Advi-

    sorTop 25 Thought Leader list, the 2011 AICPA Lead-

    ership Academy and was named to The CPA Practice

    Advisors Forty Under Forty list multiple times. He is

    a member of the KSCPA and AICPA as well as the AICPA TECH+ Steering Com-

    mittee.

    Kolbe

    Jim Boomer is a highly practical thinker who is willing to try new ideas but is careful

    to count the cost ahead of time. Though he is an innovator who enjoys promoting al-

    ternatives, Jim reviews all relevant evidence and abides by established processes. His

    creativity and imagination permit him to turn abstract ideas into reliable solutions.

    point of view with kindness. He is a quick learner who is adept at simplifying com-

    Jim writes a regular column in theBoomer Bulletin and has been published by

    Accounting Today, Accounting Web, the International Group of Accounting Firmsand

    numerous State Society Publications. Jim is also a contributing author forThe Boomer

    Advantage Guides, a series of industry guidebooks published by Boomer Consulting,

    Inc. focused on hot topics in the CPA profession. Jim was a member of the AICPATECH+ 2008 planning committee and was recently named the chair of the KSCPA

    Technology Task Force.

    Prior to joining the Boomer team in 2004, Jim spent five years with BearingPoint

    (formerly KPMG Consulting) in San Francisco, CA and Arthur Andersen Business

    Consulting in the Phoenix, AZ and San Francisco, CA offices. Throughout Jims

    professional career, he has worked on many diverse projects in varied industries. His

    consulting has focused on IT strategy and implementation, including projects focused

    on Knowledge Management, Document Management, Workplace Collaboration,

    and Corporate Portals. He has also had experience with several e-Business and

    Personal

    Jim holds a bachelors degree in Accounting and Management Information Systems

    from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas and a Masters of Business

    Administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He and his wife, Mary, live in

    Kansas City, Mo. with their son Miles and daughter Larren.
