Step 1 - Unplug the X3 connector on the ECM. There are 3 connectors on the ECM, X3 will be farthest back towards the firewall. There is a small red locking tab that will need to be depressed to allow the harness to cam over and release the connector.
Step 2 - Route connector through the wheel well and remove the plastic top cover and pin retainer using a pick tool.
Step 3 - Route switch through firewall and feed through the fender next to the connector. Cut the zip tie holding the wire bundle together. Locate PIN 11 & 35 and use a pick tool and or a 5/64” in drill bit to push the plastic plugs from the top side down and out through the bottom. The plugs are roughly ¼” in length, be sure that they come all the way out.
Step 4 - Insert the new pins from the switch harness into slots 11 and 35, IT DOES NOT MATTER WHICH PIN GOES IN WHICH LOCATION. Push the pins in slowly until you hear a faint “click” indicating that the locking tab has slid into place.

Step 5 - Reinstall top cover and bottom retainer. Use a zip tie to secure the loom from your switch to the X3 connector harness. Feed the harness back through the fender and into position. Reconnect the harness on the ECM, ensure that locking mechanism fully cams over. Slide the red lock tab to re-engage the lock.
