• Making education and training appropriateand relevant to the needs of population

• Decentralizing educational opportunities

• Investing in innovative educationalstrategies, methodologies and

technologies• Improving quality and performance

Conclusion• Strengthening public health education through

networking is a key strategy to improve theeducational practice of the education institutions.

• Shared technical activities including leadershipdevelopment, curriculum development,

information, faculty exchange and collaborativeresearch will improve the standards of publichealth education and practice.

• Improving the quality, the quantity and therelevance of the public health workforce will playgreater role in achieving the essentials healthtarget, such as MDGs

• WHO role is to support and facilitate the existingpublic health education networks,
