I train between 20-40 hours a week when I am not racing and so recovery is crucial for me. If I can make even small changes, it will impact lap times and my overall outcome in races. The quicker I can recover, the quicker I can get on to my next workout, and the more workouts I can have. As this is my profession, it is crucial for me to recover in a healthy way. I quickly noticed that my recovery, my balance, my focus, and my clarity all improved while drinking ASEA. This was huge for me. My brother-in-law, Al Fredette, introduced me to ASEA. Al is the father of BYU standout basketball player and the number 10 overall pick in 2011 NBA draft of the Sacramento Kings, Jimmer Fredette. After many months of research I realized ASEA was something I totally trusted and needed to take myself. Before I started taking it I was fortunate enough to have a sit down meeting with Dr. Gary Samuelson, Atomic/Medical Physicist, and Bruce Call, ASEA VP, Marketing. After meeting with Dr. Samuelson and Bruce I started taking ASEA and haven’t looked back.

ASEA has been a remarkable product for me. I am a fitness enthusiast, strength and conditioning coach, and basketball coach. My day pretty

much revolves around being physically fit and active. Although I have always been in good shape I could start to feel a decline in my ability to push through hard workouts. I started to fatigue much earlier than I did years ago. I just accepted it and worked hard but for much shorter times.

As a professional endurance athlete (finishing among the top 15 in the world earlier this year in the Elite Men’s ITU Off-Road Triathlon World Championships in Spain) I am always looking for an advantage to help me train more, train harder, and recover faster. My mother introduced me to ASEA about a year ago. At first I was skeptical that ASEA could back up what she claimed it could do, but I knew I had to at least try it. I am extremely attentive to detail and know how my body performs on a daily basis. Having kept training logs for every year of my life since I was 16 I knew I could put ASEA through a pretty solid “self test” to see if it’s for real. After performing several training sessions over a handful of weeks on the bike and run, both with and without ASEA, I can attest to lower training heart rates along with more power and speed at the same heart rates with the addition of ASEA. I have always been interested in health and

the idea of how science can be used to further our understanding of the body’s processes. And as an atomic/medical physicist, I deal with health issues a bit differently. I examine them on an atomic

level—how atoms and molecules interact, and how these processes contribute to the health of the entire body.

Some time back, I began to grasp the importance for us to understand that symptoms of any health condition occur because of what is happening at the cellular and sub-cellular level. And this is particularly true for athletes and how they perform.

THE REDOX SIGNALING IMBALANCEAt the core of the discussion on how to help an athlete’s body improve its performance and recovery is the balance of Redox Signaling molecules. The imbalance of Redox Signaling molecules in the body is usually caused by some form of cellular disruption. This could include the presence of bacteria, toxins, and so forth. My training kicked into high gear when I started to take ASEA. I was recovering rapidly between workouts, despite a very heavy load averaging around 20-25 hours per

week, particularly in the lead up to EPIC5, an event in which I completed five ironman distance triathlons on five Hawaiian Islands in under a week. My lung capacity seemed to expand. I did not get sick, injured, or overly fatigued. I just got stronger. My power on the bike continued to escalate, and I did not experience the weariness I had suffered this same month of training the year prior. To double check, I went through my training logs from the previous season and evaluated where I stood in comparison. To be certain, I understand that there are other factors at play—having only been competing in endurance sports for a few years, it is to be expected that I would continue to improve, particularly as I learned more about how to perfect my nutrition. But the gains exceeded what I anticipated, and this was reflected in my periodic lactate tests, which give me an accurate window into my true physical condition. I have been using ASEA consistently ever since, on average about 8-16 ounces per day, depending upon training load. I do believe that I continue to realize tangible performance gains as a result of consistent use, most noticeably in my ability to recover between workouts and a significant increase in my aerobic capacity and threshold.
