WITHOUT GLASSES
HUMAN PERCEPTIONThe receptive performance of the human
eyes is not restricted to the intensity of light
and its different spectral ranges. Due to
the different density and spreading of the
receptors in charge of viewing colours and
brightness the eyes can also distinguish
the direction of the incidence of light. This
is very important for the depth perception
of images.
PROCESSINGEach single pixel has to be processed in
a way the spectator sees it at least twice,
spatially separated and differentiated in
colour. The centrepiece of our develop-ment is an algorithm
based on our disco-
veries regarding the neuronal processing
of visual data within the human brain.
DISPLAYINGWe use auto stereoscopic displays, which are stan-
dard TVs or monitors modified by adding a parallax
barrier or lenticular lens in front of the display itself.
There are three separate processing elements:
video interface, evaluation of source material and
processing of natural spatial images by our algo-
rithm and a controller responsible for adjustment
to various monitors.
