Minutes of PA Meeting on Thursday 14th

October

Apologies from Mrs Morley and Mrs Mason.

Stuart welcomed everyone to the meeting and advised that wanted to discuss thefollowing:-

Stuart thanked Julia for all her hard work on Saturday at the family portraits sitting.

Disco

All sorted for the disco tomorrow. We discussed the idea of having an area for theparents to go to and have refreshments whilst children are in the hall. Too short noticefor this disco but will discuss with Mr Dodd to see if anything can be arranged for nextdisco.

FacebookThis page is all set up now and Nicola would welcome any feedback. Need to have athink of how we want to use this page? Need 30 people so that we can have our ownaddress. We discussed photographs and agreed that no photographs of the children orevents will be put on the page. Alison offered to help Nicola with facebook. Will putdetails of facebook page in next PA newsletter.

50 years of NorburyMr Dodd advised that Norbury opened in May 1961 and the first intake was inSeptember. We need to think of ideas for any events that we may want to hold nextyear to celebrate this.

Xmas FairThis is our next big event and we will have a meeting at school after half term to checkthat everything is on track.Jo and Rik agreed to go around Hazel Grove to try and get some raffle prizes. Will needto sort out a letter for them to take with them.If everyone on the PA can also try and get a prize then this would be great.Jo will order the raffle tickets.Marvellous Mugs – Karen/Liz/Jayne and Natalie offered to sort these out.Jane offered to run the kitchen again but will need some help. Amanda and Jennyoffered to help.Stuart will look into turkey prices as his wife’s uncle is a butcher. Need help with the beauty room as big queues last year.Traders Stalls – have got room for 4-8 stalls and need to get letters sent out asap.

The ball was discussed briefly and it was suggested that we stick to every other yearwith the next one being May 2012. To be discussed further at later date.

11th March was suggested for a quiz night.

James has a supply of Yellow Moon brochures that need labelling and sorting out forschool. Liz and Karen offered to sort these out.

Mr Hough is retiring on last day of term at xmas and it was agreed that the PA need todo something to recognise all the hard work and support Mr Hough has given to PAevents.

And Finally Congratulations to James and Julie on the birth of their new baby boy.

Next Meeting will take place at school on Thursday 4 th November at 7.30pm.
