ZONING ORDINANCESAirport zoning regulations are in place to protectthe FAR 77 Subpart C surfaces.

implemented an Enhanced 911 system to identifycallers with an address and any medical informationthey have chosen to include as their call comes intothe dispatch center.

RecreationMill Park: located on the west edge of Curtis, offersa ball field, pitching machines and batting cage,rodeo arena, picnic shelter and camping spots withelectrical hook-ups.City Park: offers playground equipment, picnicshelters, public restrooms and plenty of room to runand play. The lighted tennis/basketball court islocated right next to the swimming pool.Municipal Swimming Pool: The heated pool is openfrom Memorial Day through mid-August. Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course: Arrowhead

Meadows Golf Course and Recreational Area is abeautiful nine hole, all grass course, nestled in theMedicine Creek Valley, with the Medicine Creekmeandering throughout the course. ArrowheadMeadows has a beautiful clubhouse that we justrecently expanded. Our clubhouse is open fromApril 1st - October 1st. Our hours are 8:00 am -10:00 pm. Our clubhouse is also available to rentfor private parties and receptions. ArrowheadMeadows also has a fishing pond filled with severalkinds of fish. Sit on the banks and enjoy a day offishing or sit and enjoy a picnic while others fish.

Star Theater: The Star Theater is our local theaterthat is strictly run by volunteers, from the operatorof the projector, people working the concessionstand, to the workers in the box office. Area Hunting and Fishing: Curtis is located in theMedicine Creek Valley of southwest Nebraska onNebraska Highway 23. The University of Nebraska - Nebraska College ofTechnical Agriculture in Curtis is governed by theBoard of Regents of the NU system. The two-yearcollege grants associate of applied science degreesand certificates. In addition, it offers associate ofscience transfer degrees as well as concurrentenrollment and continuing education opportunitiesfor nontraditional students. NCTA is accredited bythe Higher Learning Commission of the NorthCentral Association of Colleges and Schools andthe American Veterinary Medical Association.

Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture

The college enrolls over 250 students on campusand 175 in other locations. July 1, 2010 will begina construction process that will culminate an additionof 75,000 square feet of new space in classrooms,laboratories, and a new residence hall. This willallow NCTA to double its enrollment by 2013.

Corporations locating in Curtis and Frontier Countywill find that the 500 students (2013) enrolled atNCTA are primarily from rural Nebraska and havea strong work ethic and need part-time and full timejobs depending on the shifts available. This almostunused resource is available because North Platteis 40 miles to the north and McCook is 40 milessouth of Curtis.

NCTA’s Continuing Education unit is very willing todevelop and teach instructional programs that willprovide training for newly established businessesin Curtis and Frontier County.
