Hello...My name is Richard Perez-Pacheco and I have had the great pleasure of working in the creative and marketing profession for over two decades. I have the passion and a wealth of experience in strategic development and execution of visual communications. I have worked with clients ranging from start-ups to the Fortune 500 companies in a mix of industries including: publishing, retail, entertainment, nutritional and hospitality. I have the ability to understand diverse corporate structures and deliver a unique blend of creative solutions in visual communications, corporate brand building and new media marketing.

Co-owner and creative director of Black Sheep Design. Company was established in 2006 in Brentwood, Northern California and relocated to Walnut Creek in 2009.

Black Sheep Design is a marketing communications company that does things the way a black sheep would: to get attention and get people to respond. A one-stop agency, Black Sheep Design works with freelancers and vendors to meet its clients’ marketing needs. The company’s competitive advantage is to fully research its clients’ business environment to establish the most effective ways to reach their target.

n Responsible for client relations and creative direction for over 100 clients including positioning, industry research, advertising and creative strategy, utilizing various media including: print ads collateral, direct mail, web/interactive, social media, email marketing campaigns, trade shows.

n Sample of work includes: producing and designing a quarterly lifestyle magazine, from revamping its existing layout to coordinating and directing photoshoots, to working closely with the publisher, editors and production team on each issue; working with several startups to create and establish their brand identity; revitalizing existing brands to make them relevant to the current marketplace.

n Manage daily aspects of the company five employees and current workload, including P&L responsibility to deliver creative solutions on time and within budget

n Communicate and distribute project assignments through the creative team, including outside contractors and vendors.

Zinus International Pleasanton, California

Manufacturer of innovative sleep products sold to consumers around the world through mass market retailers.

Creative Director 03-05

Directed and managed a team of writers, designers, photographers and printers to execute creative marketing materials to support and promote new and existing product lines.

Design and implement creative and branding solutions within a variety of media, such as print and packaging.

On a three-week assignment, I set up a creative department in the China office, including establishing relationships with local photographers, printers and designers. Upon my return I continued to manage this department.

Conceptualize and implement design solutions for gaming companies.

Design and produce global packaging and marketing materials for licensed products.

Psygnosis – Sony Inc. Foster City, California

An international developer and publisher of interactive entertainment software for a variety of video game platforms.

Art Director 97–99

Managed and produce innovative gaming packaging, POPs and sales materials.

Create, execute and approve design concepts with creative and marketing team.

Handled final pre-press production of all packaging and marketing materials.

Galoob Toys South San Francisco, California

A manufacturer that designs, develops, markets and sells high quality licensed toy products worldwide. Capitalized on current trends and popular culture.

Senior Designer 95 – 97

Created brand identity for major toy lines, on average 20 launches per year.

Managed and produced packaging and marketing materials for toy products.

Work closely with a team of 20 designers, illustrators and art directors.

AirTouch International Walnut Creek, California

Formally known as “PacTel International”, AirTouch was one of the first cellular companies that launched in the U.S. and global markets. An A-division leader that handled all overseas cellular licensing.

Senior Designer 89 –95

Managed a team of designers to produce a 200 page international cellular licensing sales and financial packet.

Traveled globally and worked alongside with the VP of Cellular International.
