FESTIVAL OVERVIEW Artscape is America’s largest FREE public arts festival. In 2010, Artscape will celebrate its

29th year (July 16 – 18, 2010). This annual event will feature 120+ arts and craftspeople from across the country; visual art exhibits both on and off site; incredible live concerts on three outdoor stages; a full schedule of performing arts including dance, opera, theater, fashion, film and classical music, hands-on projects, children’s entertainers, multiple street theater locations; and a delicious, international menu of food and beverages.

Artscape is an ideal platform for reaching the lucrative Baltimore-Washington area consumer market. It offers a broad range of niche sponsorship opportunities where your organization experiences face-to-face interaction with its target audience in a fun-filled festive environment. Artscape draws hundreds of thousands of visitors throughout the weekend.

Our flexible corporate sponsorship program offers customized package opportunities. We encourage all partners and sponsors to be creative and artsy during their three-day presence at Artscape.

Baltimore Sculpture Project Returning for a second year, the Baltimore Sculpture Project, an outdoor sculpture exhibition, will enliven street medians and parks in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District, on Mt. Royal Avenue, and other locations within Baltimore. This exhibition is open to all artists and will open in July 2010 and run through April 2011.

Janet & Walter Sondheim Prize Returning for its fifth year in 2010, the Sondheim prize awards a $25,000 fellowship to an artist working in the Baltimore Region. The fellowship is designed to help support the artist and develop new work. The seven finalists for this award will have work installed in The Baltimore Museum of Art. Opportunities start at $25,000 & require a three year commitment.

Artists’ Market A haven for art lovers, the Artists' Market returns as an opportunity for individuals to not simply admire art work but purchase it as well. More than 120 gifted arts and craftspeople from across the country showcase their paintings, ceramics, fiber, jewelry, metal, glass, and other mediums in juried booths.

Visual Art Exhibits Juried exhibitions and unique indoor and outdoor exhibits from local and national artists.

Art Demonstrations Returning for its 3rd year, these creative and interactive art demonstrations feature local artists working on-site in various mediums. Artists will engage festival-goers in discussions and provide introductory how-to instruction on various art mediums. Art Demonstrations are designed to introduce thousands, of all ages, to the many facets of art!

Film Festival Although ubiquitous and sometimes not thought of as art, Maryland's burgeoning film community reminds us with the presentation of this program that films are indeed art. Fans gather to watch cutting edge flicks in an air-conditioned tent and give feedback to first-time and veteran filmmakers alike.

Fashion at Artscape With beautiful models in fabulous fashion shows, up-and-coming designers and interesting workshops, Fashion at Artscape returns for its fifth year and it just keeps getting better! Sponsorships are available for the exhibit area and fashion shows.

Art Cars & Parade Back by popular demand, the Art Cars exhibit features kinetic sculpture at its finest. Festival goers gaze with amazement at each car’s drastic transformation. Art cars parade through the festival grounds on Saturday, July 17th.

Indie-spensable: DIY @ Artscape Artscape is supporting the emerging DIY trend by creating an entire section of the site dedicated to these hip and talented new wave crafters. With 80% or more of the work priced under $100 and all of the work represented by the artists who created it by hand, this juried section will invite a wide audience to browse, buy and be inspired.
