The Brenlo Story

In the late 1980s, a major change was taking place in the

construction of fine homes. Architects and designers were

looking for unique products that would make their project

stand out from the masses. Windows and doors were now

becoming the focal point of these designer showcase

houses. Curves and arches were appearing more common

place and elaborate library walls were being created.

Quality was being taken to a new and higher level and

mediocrity was no longer acceptable. Subsequently, there

became an increased demand for quality and design in

custom fine hardwood moulding profiles and trims,

products that would not only complete the architectural

design of each of these uniquely customized homes but

enhance it. Brenlo Custom Wood Mouldings would be the

company that would meet this need.

With roots tied closely to the specific and demanding

requirements of the architects, designers and builders of

fine homes, Brenlo set out to deliver uncompromising

quality and service to this market. And as a result, today,

Brenlo is recognized by this discerning group as their pre-

emanate millwork manufacturer supplier.

In April of 2005, Brenlo merged with its sister company

Britannia Inc. to create a commercial/industrial and

Lumber Yard division. With the increase of six moulders

in our new facility, this amalgamation has made Brenlo

the largest custom moulding manufacturer in Ontario.

The current 73,000 sq. ft. facility in Toronto has become

our distribution centre. The 80,000 sq. ft. Mississauga

state-of-the-art facility has become our manufacturing

location. Brenlo provides a broad range of architectural

wood mouldings and related products, curved mouldings

and arches, as well as doors and exterior millwork

components. Over 300 in-stock profiles are available for

next day delivery.

It has been Brenlo’s continued commitment to quality that

has ensured every foot of our product is useable, thereby

giving our customer the very best in yield with minimal

waste. Each one of Brenlo’s moulding operators operates

one specific moulding machine. Their intimate

knowledge of exacting machine and knife tolerances

allows them to produce consistent, high quality profiles

each and every time.

The Brenlo tool room specializes in developing cost

effective solutions to produce even the most complex

custom designs. With over 10,000 in-stock profile knives,

Brenlo can save the expense of cutting new knives for

custom run needs. And as a repeat customer, your past

projects are indexed and inventoried for future use.

LENGTHSWe buy our wood in random lengths and produce theoptimum length of moulding according to each particularuse. Unless specified, mouldings are produced in randomlengths varying from three (3) to sixteen (16) feet.(Produced to the nearest foot)

For random length and custom millwork orders, pleaseallow for a 10-15% waste factor when ordering.

Orders that require specified lengths will be subject to a15% surcharge.

MINIMUMS• There will be a processing charge of $5.00 for all pick-

up orders under $30.00.• A delivery charge is applicable to orders under

$250.00.

General MouldingProduct Catalogue

Casings and BasesBrenlo Ltd. utilizes many combinations of various centerand edge profiles to produce a multitude of standardstocked bases and casings. All profiles on these pagesare drawn to actual size. There may be slight variationsbetween the drawings and actual profiles. Werecommend you obtain a sample for situations requiringvery accurate material dimensions. Delivery is usually 1to 2 days on most stock items.

Custom MouldingsIf you cannot find the mouldings that suit your needs inour stocked moulding selection, we will be glad toproduce any custom moulding you desire. Center andedge profiles on our standard bases and casings can bemixed and matched in various combinations to create thecustom profile that suits your requirements. Stock isavailable up to 9-1/4 inches wide, in 4/4, 5/4, 6/4and 8/4 thicknesses. These profiles are all available inour knife collection, therefore knife grinding is notnecessary. Custom Knife GrindingWe specialize in milling mouldings to match existingmillwork. Knives can be ground to match any pattern orprofile that cannot be found in this catalogue. We canproduce knives from a sample of an existing moulding,architectural drawing, tracing or paper pattern. Customorders can generally be delivered within 2 weeks. Wealso have an inventory of over 10,000 custom knives.Knives remain the property of Brenlo Ltd.

Raw MouldingSince we do the actual manufacturing, our rawmouldings come in a wide variety of shapes and designsas well as types of wood. Additional wood types notlisted can be obtained by special request.*Special Note: All raw moulding may have natural

Over the years Brenlo has become much more than just a wood moulding manufacturer. We focus on creatinga unique product for our customers and in turn their clients. Our Custom Shop takes great pride in theseproducts and solutions while in keeping with the vision of the project. We have once again expanded ourmanufacturing capabilities with the latest technology. Arches & Curves

Arches and Curves: Brenlo specializes in curved casings, back bands, crowns, baseboards, bar rails, chair rails and panel moulds.

Curves can be made from a template or from accurate measurements. Arches made from measurements for window casings tendto be the most accurate as they give a true consistent radius, ie. length of a radius.

Typical arch types are as follows:

Please note all horizontal curves must be clearly specified as concave or convex applications.

How to measure curvesTo make an arch window casing you need to have only two critical measurements. These measurements are as follows:1) The accurate chord (inside width) of the casing line2) The accurate rise (height) from your horizontal line (chord) to the inside of your casing line.
