Sunday’s Gospel
John 14:1-12
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not
let your hearts be troubled. You
have faith in God; have faith also
in me. In my Father’s house there
are many dwelling places. If there
were not, would I have told you
that I am going to prepare a place
for you?

Dear Parents,
This is my last letter to you as principal of Holy Cross School. I cannot begin
to express what an honor and privilege it has been to be part of this commu-
nity. Not only have I served as a teacher, vice-principal and principal of this
school, I have also been a parent of Holy Cross students. Both of my children
graduated from Holy Cross and are now beautiful young adults.
The faculty and staff of this school are unequalled in their dedication to their
ministry and their willingness to go above and beyond. The parents I have got-
ten to know throughout my fifteen years at Holy Cross are incredibly suppor-
tive. I now call you all my friends.
It will be quite difficult for me to leave Holy Cross School, yet I know that
God is calling me to a new position of service. It makes it a bit easier for me
to leave knowing that the school will be in good hands. I have met with Mrs.
Beverlin several times over the past month planning the transition. I feel con-
fident that she will be a strong and capable leader.
Even though I will no longer be at the school, Holy Cross is still my parish and
I hope to see you all at Sunday Mass.
God’s Blessings,
Mary Jo Have a great

Junior Band “Wows” at Music Fes-tival!!
The Holy Cross Junior High Band attended the Schlitterbahn Sound Waves Music Festival on
Friday, May 13th and represented Holy Cross in the best way!! Students prepared two pop tunes,
“I’ve Gotta Feeling” and “Thriller” and performed the pieces for 3 judges. The judges wrote
comments for the bands and gave them a rating. The Junior High Band went home with an Ex-
cellent Rating! They received a very LARGE and beautiful trophy which is currently too large
for the trophy case! We are so proud of all our bands and all of their hard work throughout the
year!!!!

Another F.I.T. Club season has come to a close. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALLISON POWER, WHO
TOPPED THE STUDENTS WITH 625 MILES!!!! Way to go, Allison! I’d also like to give a shout out to
Gabriel Lopez, Laura Willsey, Gretchen Fiebig, John Sweetman, and Kristina Colling who had 400 or more
miles this year.
The 8th graders have closed the F.I.T. Club season on top, but it was closer than one would have thought. The
teachers came from 4th place last month to claim 2nd place, thanks in large part to many teachers finally turning
in their miles! But let’s give credit where credit is due, this 8th grade group was fabulous! Almost every 8th
grader turned in miles. In fact, every student in Mrs. Helms’s class not only turned in miles, but everyone had
100 or more! Great job 8HE!!!!
