A Message from the New & Past Board Chair & President

2010 Annual Report • Lifetrack Resources • 1

Dear Friends,

In 2010 Lifetrack Resources continued to offer assistance to those in our community facing the greatest life challenges. We provided hope to individuals and families who are striving for a better future.

Lifetrack’s home visitors helped at-risk families learn parenting skills and how to connect with other community services. The teachers in our therapeutic preschool provided a safe place for children living in high-stress environments to learn and develop life-long coping skills and prepare for kindergarten. Our therapists provided children and adults with the tools needed to improve their physical functioning skills, communication abilities and independence.

Staff at Lifetrack Resources helped individuals move from welfare to work, helped legal immigrants and refugees find jobs and social services in their new communities, and helped persons with disabilities find competitive employment. Clients developed self-sufficiency through training, job placement and job retention, thus creating stability for their future.

Lifetrack Resources has a 63-year history of providing programs in a cost effective manner so that every dollar is used to help families and individuals become strong, healthy and productive members of the community. This is possible thanks to Lifetrack’s dedicated staff and devoted volunteers who supported every individual and family we served reach their potential.

We deeply appreciate the financial and volunteer support from individuals, foundations, corporations and our community partners. The collective impact and commitment allowed Lifetrack Resources to serve over 7,500 families and individuals in our community last year.

On behalf of our clients, thank you for supporting our mission.

Tammy strives to be a great mom and is always looking out for the best interest of her one-year-old son Alex.

Tammy meets regularly with a Lifetrack Resources’ home visitor who helps her set and work toward goals and identify strategies for reducing stress. Tammy’s home visitor teaches her a variety of activities that she and Alex can do together including making toys from supplies that can be found in the home.

Tammy expressed concern about the duct tape used to make homemade rattlers if Alex were to put it in his mouth. The home visitor investigated further and found out that the tape was indeed safe for children and the curriculum was changed to include toy safety handouts for home visitors to give parents.

Tammy not only acted in the best interest of her son, but set an example for other parents to be advocates for their children.
