Usually, by this time, I am able to publish a list of major dates so that you all can do some long-range planning. However, this year creating the cal- endar has become a bit of a challenge. Some of the challenges have to do with scheduling staff development and School of Faith days. That should be worked out soon after Spring Break. The other happening that is impacting the plans for next year is the window, door and air conditioning project. As you know, we have received a commit- ment from Bonnie & Jerry Kelly and Teresa & Tom Walsh for $500,000, and we raised $60,000 at Celebration from Fund-a-Need for this project. Since then there have been a lot of things happening behind the scenes. Mark Engen, our parish manager, has been working with the Parish Renovation Committee and the Archdiocese. Construction documents are being created and a tenta- tive timetable for implementation has been identified. At this time, it looks like construction will take place during July and August. I have been waiting for this to come together a bit more before setting the date for school to begin. This should also come together soon after Spring Break. At this point, I antici- pate that the first day of school will be August 24 th , but that is not set in stone. You may be wondering about the funding aspect of this project. As I men- tioned we have secured $560,000, but the estimates for the project were in the $650,000 range. There are some things happening in this area that I am not able to announce at this time, however we feel very confident that we have that piece taken care of also. I have seen some of the pictures from the architect simulating how the build- ing will look with the new windows and it is going to be an amazing transfor- mation. The building will take on a more modern look and (in Real Estate lingo) this will greatly improve the “curb appeal” of the school. I will keep you posted. Have a great Spring Break. God’s Blessings, Mary Jo

Dear Parents, I have been receiving requests for calendar dates for the 2011-2012 school year. Attention Parents of 6th Grade Students There is a new Immunization requirement for students entering the 7th grade

next year. All 7th grade students for 2011/2012 will be required to have had 2 Varicella vaccines. Currently all 6th grade students had one vaccine unless they have had a documented case of the chicken pox. Please check your child’s re-

cord and if he/she has not received the 2nd shot then there are opportunities for your child to receive it free at clinics offered by the JCHD held at Oak Park Mall for a limited time. Please contact the Mall or the Health department for dates, location and times. Please provide docu-mentation of the vaccination to the Nursing office once your child has received it. Call Kathy

or Polly with any questions you have.
