INTRODUCTION
This publication contains a summary listing of 4-H Curriculum Kits and Audio VisualMaterials available to you through your County Extension Office. Curricula are available for
Kindergarten (K) through High School and may be used for School Enrichment, Special Interest,or Club Programs.
New Mexico State University and the New Mexico Cooperative Extension Serviceadminister the 4-H Youth Development Program, which is open to all youth, ages 5-19. The 4-HYouth Development Program is designed for in-school and out-of-school programming. Feel freeto involve your youth in 4-H through the following curricula and audio visual materials or theothers that may be available through your local County Extension Office.
These curricula can be used to meet New Mexico Curriculum Content Standards asprovided in the guidelines for education by the New Mexico State Department of Education.

Food, Land and People K-12 09760
Food, Land and People is a curriculum notebook that contains lesson plans for use withyouth groups. The program teaches an appreciation for land, agriculture, agricultural productsand society. The lesson plans include the background information needed to teach the lesson,materials needed, activities and games that are ready to use. Suggested uses include 4-H Clubmeeting programs, Agriculture Day events, classroom, after school programs, camps and youthgroups.

Gifts of Gold, a nutrition,agriculture, and multiculturalcurriculum, is a highly interactiveproject that contains songs, stories,hands-on activities, and optionalfamily involvement for children,5-8 years of age. Following the format of the popularTJ 1 Teamwork Series, TJ 2 teaches youth toresolve conflicts with peers without using violence. Through the program, children learnimportant skills of managing anger and choosing alternatives to violence, respectingdifferent points of view when trying to resolve a problem, and using friendly words tocommunicate feelings and ideas. The program encourages children to work and play inmore caring and cooperative ways, a very important goal in todays culturally diversesociety. Short snappy video segments accompany handouts, poster, and step-by-stepinstructions for each season as well as a take-home component for each child.
TJ is a spunky DJ who answers phone calls from kids and helps to solve theirproblems in creative, positive ways. This curriculum can be adapted easily for a varietyof settings and youth.
