Swimmer times achieved during the G League series, and other PASA or FINA approved competitions in the same period will be used as basis for selecting national training pool members for various international competitions included in the 2010 calendar.

Please Study the attached Entry Kit very well. PASA has introduced some important information in our competition system to create a talent identification ladder to ensure that PASA registered swimmers reach their full potential. We will also be using the PASA STAR (Swimming Talent and Achievement Recognition) Database as the core application determining who is qualified to participate in the 2009 National Short Course Swimming Championships, as well as to manage entries, rankings and results. One of the features of PASAs STAR software solution kit is we are able to use it for talent identification and selection purpose using a variety of age reckoning computation. However, please note that the Age Reckoning for the whole 2009 National Short Course Swimming Championships will be AGE AS OF DECEMBER 31, 2009. IMPORTANT REMINDER: Entries will be automated. The PASA STAR Database will automatically determine their entry time and seeding depending on the swimmers result. All entry forms must be legibly and accurately filled out, and submit them with corresponding entry fees on or before the close of entries stated in the meet entry kit. Now that we have populated the PASA STAR Database with results from the G League Short Course Meet Series, and all PASA and FINA Sanctioned and Approved competitions, it is no longer necessary to fill up the usual entry forms. This process is now automated, and the Entry Fee collection process now simplified.

Please note that swimmers qualifying to the 2009 National Short Course Swimming Championships are only allowed to enter in their qualified events. No more additional events will be allowed because of the large number of qualifiers and our need to ensure the quality of competition by following a strict timeline.

The meet shall be run under all applicable FINA, PASA and G-League Rules and Regulations. PASA registration numbers are part of the entry system, and the names and ID numbers of swimmers submitted must be the same as that indicated on their PASA Registration Application Form. Entries using nicknames of swimmers will be rejected. PASA ID cards must be available for inspection. It is your means of admission, and accreditation to receive hospitality from the organizing committee, as well as avail of other benefits. All Entry Forms herewith provided MUST BE COMPLETED AND SUBMITTED BEFORE THE DEADLINE OF ENTRIES. Swimmer Entry Forms must be signed by a PASA registered coach. ENTRY DEADLINE

By 5:00 PM on 6 November 2009 (Friday). All entries plus contact information and fees must be received on or before the closing date at PASA OFFICE. Late entries or those unaccompanied by fees will not be processed. If an error is made during entry processing, where it is on the part of the PASA meet organizers it will be corrected without detriment to the swimmer. Where it is on the part of the swimmer, the PASA meet organizers will do their best to correct it but cannot fully guarantee to do so. All events will be run using the Time Finals Format.

Games and the FINA World Youth Swimming Championships, the FINA Age Reckoning Rule in application will be used. AGE AS OF 31 DECEMBER 2009.

AGE GROUPS

The age groups for individual events will be as follows: 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and over for Boys and Girls. 1. 2. 3. Swimmers shall be placed in graduated time order, slowest to fastest. Swimmers must check in one hour before published starting time. Four tables will be made available for swimmers to check in. These will be according to gender and alphabetized. Any swimmer failing to check in at the appropriate table will be considered not to be swimming. In exceptional circumstances, a swimmer who is late to register may be placed in an earlier heat in an unoccupied lane at the discretion of the Meet Director. A list of heats and lane assignments will be posted. It is the swimmers responsibility to check the heat sheet and be at the ready bench area on time. Fifteen minutes prior to the start of the session or three events before the one in which your swimmer is competing, coaches must ensure that their swimmers present themselves to the Clerk of the Course. It is each swimmers responsibility to be at the start in time for his/her event. Meet Directors will ensure that swimmers with disabilities are allowed to participate in the G-League series of swim meets.

QUALIFYING TIMES

PASA is waiving the QT requirement and will base entries on the STAR Database. The Coaches should use their best judgment in entering swimmers to ensure compliance with PASA Long-term Swimmer Development Framework. If the events are oversubscribed, the PASA reserves the right to limit the number of swimmers per event to ensure a wellmanaged, quality meet.


AWARDS

Awards shall be presented per age in each event as follow: Individual events: Medals 1st 3rd place. Most Outstanding Swimmers with the most number of points will be awarded in every age based on the order of events. Qualification to the 2009 National Short Course Swimming Championships will be for: 1. The top 24 swimmers nationwide per age in each events except the 400 IM, 800 Free, and 1500 Free. 2. The top 16 swimmers nationwide per age in the following events: 400 IM, 800 Free, 1500 Free. Competition at the SC Nationals will be conducted using age groups, but awards presented for each single-age band. Note: The Top 24/16 swimmers as stated above will be selected on the basis of their performance at corresponding G-League Short Course Swim Meets in the SC series. PASA reserves the right to preseed national age, junior and open level swimmers in the SC Nationals, however. Team Recognition: Team garnering the most points based on the traditional team point award system imbedded in the Meet Management software provided by PASA will receive recognition from PASA
