    January 8 - Jim Dinsmore - Birds of New Zealand: A Biologists View- Former Professor of Ornithology

    at Iowa State University, James Dinsmore, will present an extraordinary look at the birds of New Zealand

    and how they evolved into such an enormous number of unique species

    January 15 - Mike Owen - Fascinating Facets of the Fakahatchee Strand- The Park Biologist at theFakahatchee Strand State Preserve describes as only he can the uniqueness of the largest strand swamp

    in the Florida Park system which is also the U.S. bromeliad and orchid capital, Floridas fern capital and

    houses the largest population of Royal Palms in the country.

    January 22 - Paul Thomas - Confessions of a World Birder- Paul Thomas, naturalist, photographer and

    world traveler, shares anecdotes and images of birds, birders, biomes, and his memorable experiences

    from his travels to all seven continents.

    January 29 - Charles LeBuff- Sanybel: Looking Back at Things That Mattered- Long time Sanibel resident,

    former career Biological Technician at Ding Darling, former Director of Caretta Research and author of

    Sanybel Lightand The Calusantakes us back in an historical look at important events that have affected ourSanctuary Island.

    February 5 - John Hicks -Astronomy-A Photographic Journey- Join expert amateur astronomer, John

    Hicks as he calls upon the best of his enormous photo collection to provide the audience with different

    perspectives of our sun, solar system galaxy and deep space.

    February 12 - Bob Montanaro - Osprey of Pelican Island: An Exploration into the Life of the Fish Hawk-

    Having spent more than 100 days, each year in 2006 & 2007, closely and intimately tracking a pair of

    Osprey at Pelican Island, Bob will join us to celebrate the Osprey nesting experience from mating to

    fledging their young.

    February 19 - Brian and Dolores MishellBirds, Mammals & Reptiles of the Galapagos- CharlesDarwin brought these enchanted islands to the world's attention after his voyage in 1835 aboard H.M.S.

    Beagle. Join the Mishells aboard the good ship Frigata and visit the Birds, Mammals and Reptiles of the

    Galapagos that draw over 200,000 visitors to these islands yearly.

    February 26 - Jerry Lorenz - Roseate Spoonbills: 80 Years of Study- The Director of Research for the

    National Audubon Society Research Unit at Tavernier, Florida, and author of research publications

    focused on the Florida Keys and Everglades vividly brings to life the history, the latest on preservation

    efforts and the status of Roseate Spoonbills and their habitat.
