Seven’s SG and race editions

A road bike can’t be all things to all people and perform optimally. That’s why

Seven distinguishes certain models as SG or Race. Choosing between the two

is simply a matter of how you plan to use the bike most.

SGThe SG designation on the Elium and Axiom stands for Sui Generis, meaning unique, individual. These models feature handling and ride characteristics custom-tailored to your unique and individual riding style and preferences—whether you ride purely for recreation and fitness or even like to mix it up on the weekly group ride. The SG Edition models offer greater versatility of use and a wide range of custom options.

RaceThe Elium Race and Axiom Race are designed specifically for competition. While they may look very similar to their SG counterparts, their handling and ride characteristics have been engineered exclusively for racing and competitive rides. Featuring distinctive team paint, Race Edition models boast an extra-stiff chassis and razor-sharp handling designed for the most serious competitors.

Security and innovation. These two words best sum up our A6 Carbon Technology Platform (CTP™). The result of more than a decade of carbon bonding experience, the CTP Surface System maximizes bond strength and durability by sophisticated joint interface technology and superior bonding surface area. Textured “standoffs” molded directly into each part ensure ideal glue gap for 100% epoxy strength, while precision-machined interface surfaces create the most exacting fit-up possible.

What’s more, Seven’s patent-pending joint interface technology not only enables us to fully customize frame geometry, but also provides added joint integrity. And like all Sevens, our A6 carbon frames are built to order, 100% in-house, which ensures just-in-time materials prep and machining, maximizing cleanliness and attention to detail.

The Seven Process Methodology (SPM™) is a unique production system we devel-oped to allow us to build every Seven frame to order, with remarkable precision and efficiency.

Within each of Seven’s three major produc-tion processes—machining, welding, and finishing—each craftsperson works on only one frame at a time, from beginning to end. This instills a sense of pride in workmanship and a level of quality that could never be

achieved with an assembly line or other traditional production systems.

Integral to SPM is our Zero Defect Initiative, which is a systematic approach to standard-izing processes and tracking defects back to their root cause to address them at their source. These standards are born of our commitment to continuous improvement, ever driving us to seek out and develop systems to increase product excellence.

the Seven Process Methodology™ Part Two: Obsessed with Details

Seven’s manufacturing tolerances are the tightest in the industry. Consider our propri-etary tube butting technologies, which allow us to hold wall thickness variations to within 0.001"—about the thickness of a human hair. Tolerances this tight are critical to controlling elements such as weight, stiffness, compliance, and durability.

Then there’s our obsession with frame align-ment. Every Seven frame is subjected to no less than 50 alignment checks—28 in welding alone. Each is designed to guarantee the straightest, most accurate frame possible. It’s no small effort to hold tolerances as tight as +/- .002" for the most critical measurements. (That’s thinner than a sheet of paper.) But it’s crucial to ensuring proper bike handling.

mountain The boundary for custom bikes is not a thin ribbon of asphalt. It extends across any terrain you want to ride. In fact, you may be surprised to learn that the first bike we built in 1997 was a steel mountain bike. Our commitment to mountain bikes has never wavered since the beginning, and we’re not about to start now.

For 2009 we offer six unique models, each one custom designed to excel on whatever trail you point them toward. From endless singletrack or epic slickrock, to the most technical World Cup courses, Seven’s mountain bikes always embrace your next adventure.

The great wheel debate rages on. Depending on who you are, where you ride, or what you’ve read, 29" wheels are better than 26" wheels, or vice versa. And just when you think it’s settled, somebody offers another compelling argument to choose one version over the other. But one thing is certain; you can get your new Seven with the wheels you want. We offer nearly every mountain bike in our line with a 29", 650B, or 26" version. We can even offer a combination of wheel sizes—29" in front, 26" in back, for example. The more options, the better.

The utter simplicity of a singlespeed is a big reason for its surge in popularity. If your riding philosophy is decidedly Zen, then Seven has an option to match. We offer single–speed versions of 27 models in three different dropout/bottom bracket configurations. That’s enough variations to satisfy any nonconformist’s request.

Choose traditional track-style horizontal dropouts and a standard threaded BB, vertical dropouts with an eccentric BB, or Seven’s “slider” dropout with a standard threaded BB.

Seven’s slider dropout system for Ti frames is lighter than other slider systems and easier to set up, since there’s no chain tensioner to adjust. Our system employs an aluminum-to-aluminum interface and is textured so parts grip each other tightly. What’s more, Seven’s bolt-on design allows for the use of a derailleur in the future. One speed. Many options.

specialtyWhat do you call a category with no boundaries?

We call it Specialty. Ask someone what that means,

and you’ll probably hear responses like “niche” or

“special category”. Those terms imply a limited

selection. Paradoxically, Seven offers a broader

range of distinct models than anyone else.

We offer cyclocross, touring, triathlon and tandem

models in a variety of material options. Each of

these disciplines demand dedicated equipment,

and it’s only fitting that such equipment should be

uniquely yours. The more specific your need, the

better we can deliver.
