Midwest Gang Investigators Association Missouri Chapter Annual Street Gang Training Conference SEPTEMBER 22-24, 2009 CLARION HOTEL: SPRINGFIELD, MO Gangs are present in nearly every community across the nation. Bringing fear, terror and economic instability, street gangs bestow a number of challenges for today’s law enforcement. This two and one-half day conference will provide participants with a variety of perspectives and techniques that will assist street officers, detectives, correctional officers, prosecutors and probation/parole officers. It will include information on suppression, investigation, identification and prevention. This will be effective for personnel in rural communities as well as large urban cities. With street gangs spreading from urban areas to Middle America, everyone’s looking for lasting solutions. The MGIA-Missouri Chapter invites you to attend the 2009 Street Gang Training Conference. MGIA-Missouri Chapter Conference Logistics

Registration: Early registration to begin on Monday evening, September 21st from 4:00—8:00pm. Registration will continue at 7:00am on Sept. 22nd, opening remarks will begin at 8:00am. Conference will end at Noon on Sept. 24th.

Who may attend: This training is restricted to law enforcement, corrections, probation/parole, law

enforcement analysts and prosecutors.

Lodging: The Clarion Hotel, 3333 S. Glenstone, is offering room rates of $63.00 plus tax per night for either single or double occupancy. Hotel rate includes daily buffet breakfast!!! Lunch will be provided on September 22nd and 23rd, as well. Please contact the Clarion Hotel directly at (417) 883-6550 for reservations. Please mention the MGIA Conference when making your reservation.

Fees: Conference fees are $160 for all attendees (Includes 1 year membership in MGIA). Current

paid members will receive an automatic extension for one year upon conference registration. Cash, Check or Purchase Orders are the only forms of payment that can be accepted. Please make checks payable to the MGIA Missouri Chapter (Missouri Vendor #39157532205, Federal Tax ID #39-1575322) and submit with registration form.

Refunds/Cancellations: It is recommended you send a qualified substitute if you cannot attend.

However, if you are not able to attend, please contact Heather Joyce at 316-978-5897 prior to August 24, 2009. If you do not provide notice of cancellation prior to August 24, 2009, you and/or your agency will be held liable for the registration fees. A full refund of registration fees will be made if notification is made prior to August 24, 2009. The liability of the MGIA Missouri Chapter is limited to the registration fee. The MGIA Missouri Chapter will not be responsible for any losses incurred by the registrants, including but not limited to airline cancellation charges and/or hotel deposits.

Comprehensive handouts and resource materials will be provided.

Certificate of Attendance will be available at the end of the conference.
