ARROYO SECO RANCH

Explore the beautiful opengrasslands, blue oak andsycamore habitats of this1,674-acre ranch.Take adip in the Arroyo Seco River,one of the most pristine free-flowing rivers in the SalinasRiver system. Be preparedfor a 4 mile strenuous hikewith an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. Trek through dryand rocky terrain with steepascents and descents. Planfor an all-day excursion;ample food, water andsun screen a must!

MARKS RANCH

Enjoy the picturesque wild-flower meadows, gentlyrolling hills, native grasslandsand expansive oak wood-lands of this 816-acre ranchlocated along Highway 68southwest of Salinas. Beprepared for a moderatelystrenuous 6 mile hike withan elevation gain of 800 feet.Plan for a 5 hour excursionduring which you will alsodiscover a 1920s Mexicanstyle hacienda and learnabout the Marks Familylegacy.

PALO CORONA RANCHExplore the northern portionof this 10,000-acre ranch.Trek through idyllic pastoralgrasslands and beautifulstands of oak as you ascendto Inspiration Point and itssweeping views of historicOdello Fields, the CarmelRiver Mouth and the oceanbeyond. Plan for a strenuous4.5 mile hike (about 4hours) with an elevationgain of 1,000 feet.

GLEN DEVEN RANCH

This hike includes twodistinct Big Sur experiences.Enjoy a moderate 2.5 milewalk (round trip) atopGarrapata ridge featuringbreathtaking Pacific coastalvistas. After a break for lunchtake a strenuous 4 mile hike,descending 1,100 feet tothe redwood-lined GarrapataCreek and then loop back upto the ridge. Plan for a 3 to6 hour excursion dependingon whether you chose oneor both of these hikes.

POINT LOBOS RANCH

This easy two-hour, 2.5 milewalk straddles the sereneSan Jose Creek. Follow thecreek through a deep canyonwhere pink rhododendronsbloom in the deep shadeof the redwood forest.

MITTELDORF PRESERVE

This outing includes twohike options to explore thismagical 1,100-acre redwoodpreserve. Take a moderatelystrenuous 3.5 mile hike withan elevation gain of 1,000feet. Trek through an oldgrowth redwood forest andenjoy panoramic vistas of coastal grasslands. Or takea strenuous 5 mile hike withan elevation gain of 1,900feet that includes ancientstands of oak and magnifi-cent groves of madrone.Plan for a 5 to 6 hourexcursion and bring plentyof water.
