very sincere “Thank You”to everyone who had anything to do with the partythat was held in my honoron Saturday, Sept. 12, atthe Elwood ConstructionBuilding here in MasonCity.

First of all I thankeveryone who took timeout of a beautiful Satur-day night to come andhonor me by being at thisevent. As much as I tried Iwas not able to get to atleast say Hi to all of you,so if you are one I missed Iam sorry, but on the otherhand I was quite over-whelmed by the turn out.I just want you to knowthat your presence theremeant a lot to me. It reallymeant a lot to me to haveso much of my family beable to be there and enjoythe night with me. Mydaughter Sarah came fromFlorida and my son Kevinwas there from Oklahoma. They both enjoyed gettingto see old friends thatthey knew from whenthey lived here as well asmeeting new friends ofmine, and as always Ienjoyed spending somemore time with themwhile they were here withme. My sister and brotherwere there and had a greattime as well. For those of

you who were confusedabout my brother and I, itis easy to tell the differ-ence between us, I am theone that doesn’t have tocomb his hair. Thanks tomy cousins that werethere that came from Illi-nois, Wisconsin, andCanada as well as manyhigh school friendsincluding Grif who camefrom Nebraska for theevent.

For fear of missingsome names of some ofthe people involved, because there were somany people on the com-mittee and working at theevent, I say thank you toeveryone who had a partin making the evening awonderful event for meand my family. I must sayThanks to Zelda & LarryElwood for providing thelocation and to everyoneinvolved in getting itready. It looked quite a bitdifferent than it usuallydoes. To the band, whatcan I say, other than fan-tastic. For those of youwho didn’t know it wasthe first time that the 4 ofthem had played togetheras one band. They had funand it showed, but whenJoe and Don get together italways happens. To mygreat friends Bob & Sarah,Brian & Jayne, and Jean, Iam sure you had quite a

bit to do with the eventthat you haven’t told meabout and I thank you forthat. But more important-ly I Thank You for beinghere with me during thiswhole rollercoaster ride Ihave been on the last fewmonths. You have all doneso much for me fromhauling me around townto my appointments, mowing my lawn, de-cluttering my house andjust taking care of me ingeneral. It has meant a lotto me.

I must also give out ahuge Thank You to every-one who donated itemsfor the live and silent auc-tions, as well as thosepeople who helped outwith items for the meal. This could not have beenas successful withoutyour generosity. And toeveryone that boughtitems on the auction ordonated money in anyway, please know thatyour generosity is greatlyappreciated.

I’ll close with my newsaying that I came upwith a few weeks ago.“When life hands youlemons, take them back tothe store and trade themfor limes and make mar-garitas.” I am not encour-aging us to all be drinkingall the time, just thatsometimes you can makea minor adjustment to the

situation and make it awhole lot more enjoyablefor you.

My Thanks, Love andGratitude to all of you,

— Dalton Reineking
