Inputs:For PWM 9 there are 5 different interfaceboards. Each board supports one inter-face.Currently modules are available for:1Vpp, 11µApp, TTL, HTL andEnDat/SSI/commutation signals (withoutdisplay of position values or parameters).

PWM 9 – Modular Inspection Kit for HEIDENHAIN Encoders
The PWM 9 is a universal measuringdevice for checking and adjustingincremental linear and angularencoders from HEIDENHAIN.
The values can be read on an LCDmonitor. Soft keys provide ease ofoperation. The PWM 9 can be con-nected in series between the encoderand the subsequent electronics.Because the control loop is notinterrupted, it is also possible toconduct measurements duringrunning operations. The featuresare divided between the PWT modeand PWM mode.
In the PWT mode, the graphic bardisplay facilitates quantitative andqualitative evaluation of the analogincremental signals and the referencesignal. The integrated adjustment aidfor exposed linear encoders speedsthe scanning-head mounting process.
In the PWM mode, the user can meas-ure quantities such as on-off ratios,phase angle, and amplitudes of currentand voltage. He can also configure thesettings of the PWM 9.
For checking the various encodersignals, HEIDENHAIN offers a varietyof expansion modules (interfaceboards) that are easily exchangedfrom outside the housing.
Functions:
Measurement of signal amplitudes,current consumption, operating voltageand scanning frequency.
Graphic display of incremental signals(amplitudes, phase angle and on-offratio) and the length and width of thereference signal.
Display symbols for the referencemark, fault detection signal andcounting direction.
Universal counter, interpolationselectable from single to 1024-fold.
Adjustment aid (PWT mode) forexposed linear encoders.
