    610.31. Section 610.31 (Runway Conductor

Disconnecting Means) was revised to require

the The provision for locking or adding a lock

to the disconnecting means shall be installedon or at the switch or circuit breaker used as

If UL 429 is revised to include valve

    actuator motors, then additional wording

may help provide more design flexibility of

    these products.

Revise the Standard to cover these

    products.

    No immediate change necessary but

questions have been raised about using

    standard listed connectors vs. connectors

    listed specifically for grounding and

UL 1072, Table 1.1 will need to be revised

to reflect the larger size conductors now

allowed by the NEC. Specifically, the first

row, second column needs to be revised

to allow conductors up to 2000 kcmil.

Presently, UL 1277 requirements do not

address nickel or nickel coated copper

    conductors. A standards change is

    needed to allow this option.

    Will require new performance, marking

requirements, Guide card and markingguide revisions. Due to the delay getting

    revisions processed in this Trinational

Standard a CRD will be issued first so that

by end of first quarter 2008 certification

    requirements will be in place.

UL should only allow use of PV wire,

USE2 cable or equivalent for general

    outdoor PV modules.

Connectors need to be rated for the wire

    type.

Since we have no control over installation

locations all PV connectors need to be

built such that they can only be opened

via the use of a tool.

May need to revise/ provide guidance on

minimum sizing of combined AC and DC

    grounging.

This could require either OCP or product

evaluation for current limitation on both

    sides of conductors between energy

storage and inverter / charger circuits.

Inverters with charger circuit may need

    equalization voltage marking.

Standards need to be revised to reflect

    increased ampacity requirement for unit

    switches serving as disconnecting means.

These raceways are being used toenclose not only optical fiber cables but

also Class 2 and Class 3 cables of the

    appropriate rating.

Where a listed generator is supplied with

    a disconnecting means the bonding

jumper sized according to NEC would be

    required.

Where a generator is not provided with an

integral disconnect, the disconnect isinstalled in the field and this clause

applies the field installation rather than the

    generator itself. Generators provided with

    integral disconnects shall have provisions

for locking the disconnect in the open

    position. Possible revisions necessary to

    standard.

This change helps bolster therequirements that GFCI protection for

personnel is required even for generator-

    derived power.

    Integral disconnecting means shall be

suitable for use as service equipment

when the generator is used in emergency

    systems. This may require standards

    revision

Provisions must be made in transfer

switches for emergency and in generators

which may be used in emergency systems

to keep the generator control wiring

independent of all other wiring. This may

    require standards revision.

    Revise Clause 8.1.1( C)

Presently, UL 514D, para. 4.1.1 prohibits

a cover plate or outlet box hood that is

used with a receptacle shall not hinder the

complete seating of an attachment plug of

the type intended for use with the

    receptacle.

For KEWV, KEYQ2 and KEXS equipment

    the conductor identification colors will

need to change to those indicated.
