    in situ: PRESS RELEASE

Get up close to the tales of love, hate and

    transformation in Ovids MetamorphosesJuly 16-19

You may be familiar with the beautiful landscape of Wandlebury Ring, nearCambridge, either for a weekend walk, family picnic or ball games with thechildren. Now in situ: isproviding theatregoers with a unique opportunity to seeOvids Metamorphoses at this locally-renowned site.

Cambridges leading experimental theatre company has created a performanceof epic proportions and cinematic scope, that takes the audience on anextraordinary journey through secluded groves, open meadows and atmosphericwoodlands.

Wandlebury Ring provides the perfect setting for Ovids famous cycle offascinating stories of passionate love, transcendental hate and miraculoustransformation.

One moment the actors are by your side, the next they are a flash of movementthrough the trees. Then they are distant specks on the horizon.

Metamorphoses is a unique theatrical experience and in situ: director RichardSpaul explained why those who have yet to see the companysproductions should not miss this opportunity.

Its very rare that a piece of theatre has the vast geographical scope thatMetamorphoses has. It takes place over several square miles of wonderfulterrain. This allows us to create the sort of visual spectacle that is usually onlypossible in cinema, but, unlike cinema, its really happening as you watch. I findthat fascinating and hope that our audiences will do so too.

Metamorphoses runs from Wednesday July 16 to Saturday July 19, 8pm. Ticketsare available from The Junction, 01223 511511, or on the door, at 11 (9 cons).Suitable for 16+

This is a walk around performance, taking place outside, involving some gentle

walking. No seating, but bring a cushion if you wish.
