Explosion, fire and skin irritation

The product poses a serious risk of explosion, fire and skin irritation because the fuel level sensor’s gasket loses its properties and becomes fragile when in prolonged contact with petrol. This may lead to leakage of fuel from the tank with consequent leakage of petrol into the boat.

The product does not comply with the Recreational Craft Directive.

Injuries

The gear lever may break at the weld area, whereupon users may have difficulty changing or selecting gear and may be unable to proceed. If this happens when the motor is running and in gear, it is possible to reduce speed, stop the engine and manoeuvre, but collisions may occur because the craft is drifting.

Fire

The product poses a risk of fire because the fuel rail pulse damper retainer clips may fracture with exposure to vibration, corrosion and other environmental conditions. If the clip fractures, the damper can come loose and fuel can leak from the fuel rail until the fuel pump is off and the fuel rail pressure drops. Under these circumstances a fire may occur if an ignition source is present.
