AQUACEL® Ag Hydrofiber® Dressing with Ionic SilverAQUACEL® Ag dressing is the only antimicrobial dressing with all the unique gelling benefits of Hydrofiber®

technology. This dressing provides many benefits IN ADDITION to those listed for AQUACEL® dressing. Silveris only bactericidal in its ionic state.9,10 The Hydrofiber® properties of AQUACEL® Ag dressing thoroughly conforms over thewound surface creating an intimate contact that allows for an optimal exposure to bactericidal silver ions.11 Ionic silverstarts killing a broad spectrum of pathogens within 30 minutes of exposure to the dressing as demonstrated by in vitrotesting, including MRSA and VRE.12 In vitro studies with AQUACEL® Ag dressing have demonstrated microbicidal activityagainst a wide range of pathogens up to a period of 14 days.13 AQUACEL® Ag dressing maintained antimicrobial activityeven after reinoculation of microorganisms in laboratory studies.13 Gauze can release bacteria into the air during dressingremoval.14 The moist environment provided through Hydrofiber® technology reduces pain during dressing changes provid-ing a non-traumatic removal of the dressing without damaging newly formed tissue.3-6 In addition, AQUACEL® Ag dress-ing resulted in a 28% reduction in the cost per partial thickness burn healed compared to silver sulfadiazine5 in aprotocol of care.

Exudate Management

AQUACEL® Hydrofiber® Wound Dressing AQUACEL® dressing is a soft, nonwoven pad or ribbon dressing that features Hydrofiber® technology, a unique

gelling technology exclusive to ConvaTec. It absorbs and retains exudate and harmful components, such as

bacteria contained within exudate, directly into its fibers.1 In an animal study, AQUACEL® dressing in its gelled state,

conformed to the wound surface, thereby reducing dead space.2 The gelling action of Hydrofiber® technology in

AQUACEL® (and AQUACEL® Ag) reduces wound pain while the dressing is in situ and helps to reduce the pain and trau-

ma upon dressing removal.3-6 In addition, AQUACEL® dressing in its gelled state does not damage tender, granulating

wound tissue or healthy tissue surrounding exudating wounds during dressing changes.7 AQUACEL® dressing absorbs

wound fluid and creates a soft gel, which maintains a moist wound environment that aids autolytic debridement and

supports the body’s healing process8 in a protocol of care.

Two-Piece Ostomy System

The Esteem synergy® ostomy system utilizes

an Adhesive Coupling Technology™ that

connects the pouch to the skin barrier and

eliminates the need for plastic rings that must

be snapped or locked together. Esteem

synergy® is ConvaTec's two-piece product that

provides the skin friendliness and versatility of

a two-piece system, as well as the low profile,

comfort, and flexibility of a conventional one-

piece system.

The Esteem synergy® ostomy system has a

flat, flexible adhesive foam ring on a pouch

that securely connects with a clear, flat, flexible

plastic "Landing Zone" flange on a skin barrier.

It is easy to apply and easy to remove.

and add to ease of emptying. Esteem synergy® drainable pouches have an advanced air filter which is designed

to let gasses through while repelling liquids.

Esteem synergy® drainable pouches are also available with the InvisiClose® tail closure system. The InvisiClose®

clipless tail closure offers double security, ease of drainage, comfort and cleanliness. The easy to open outlet

end strips and tail design help control flow and reduce splashing. The locking mechanism is enhanced by an
