Creative Development (Art, Music, Drama/Role Play, Design Technology) Children will: sing in tune and with expression. role play scenes from a story to aid understanding and inference skills. explore the work of Kandinsky. paint in the style of Kandinsky using their knowledge of mixing primary colours to make a secondary colour. design and sketch a fictional creature. Mathematical Development Children will: continue to practise the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using known multiplication tables, including use of money and length recognise, find and write fractions of a discrete set of objects: unit fractions & non-unit fractions with small denominators recognise and show equivalent fractions with small denominators. compare and order fractions. add and subtract fractions with the same denominator. count up and down in tenths. recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into ten equal parts and in dividing numbers or quantities by 10. recognise angles are a property of shape or a description of a turn. identify right angles, recognise that two right angles make a half-turn, three make three quarters & four a complete turn. Knowledge and Understanding of the World (Science, History, Geography, ICT) Children will: identify that humans and some other animals have skeletons and muscles for support, protection and movement. explain how the muscular and skeletal systems in animals work together. identify that animals, including humans, need the right types of nutrition and that they cannot make their own food; they get nutrition from what they eat. R.E and PSHE PSHE : Relationships – Children will explore the quality of a relationship with another person and factors which can affect relationships. R.E: Encounters – Children will explore the diversity and significance of local places of worship to faith groups.
