SERVICE PROCEDURE LINCOLN: 2000-2002 LS This article supersedes TSB
02-7-3 to update the service procedure and part information. ISSUE
The rear door power window regulator may become inoperative,
leaving the vehicle operator unable to raise or lower the rear
window glass. In most instances, only the power window regulator
mechanism requires replacement and the window motor can be reused.

Inoperative
If inspection/diagnosis lead to an inoperative rear window
regulator, BOTH window regulators should be replaced. Refer to the
following Service Procedure. SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Remove both power
window regulators per Workshop Manual Section 501-11. 2. Remove the
motors from the window regulators 3. Inspect the motor shaft seals
for torn, gouged or damaged seals. If seal is undamaged proceed to
Step 3a. If seal is damaged/torn proceed to Step 3b. a. If seal is
not damaged, replace the window regulator mechanism only. Refer to
parts list for correct part number. Re-attach the motor to the
regulator mechanism, apply TA-19 Instant Adhesive to the screw
threads and tighten to 5 N.m (45 lb-in). Reinstall the window
regulator per Workshop Manual Section 501-11. b. If seal is
damaged, replace the window regulator/motor assembly. Refer to
parts list for correct part number. Install window regulator/motor
assembly per procedures Workshop Manual Section 501-11.
