What Is Community Action?

Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other. KI BOIS Community Action Foundation, Inc. programs serves Haskell, Latimer, LeFlore, Pittsburg and Sequoyah Counties with programs such as transit, food and nutrition, women’s shelter and Advantage case management serving beyond those county lines. One of the major goals of Community Action is to form partnerships between staff, families and the community. When these partnerships are developed, staff, families and the community are working together to support the family’s growth and development. This resource book has been designed to give families information about places they can call when support is needed. Contact your nearest KI BOIS Community Action office if you need assistance in using the resource book or through referrals for emergency or crisis situation.
