Save that Sunday Paper!
There are 63 million newspapers printed each day in the U.S. Of these, 44 million, or about 69%, of them will be thrown away. Recycling just the Sunday papers would save more than half a million trees every week.

Health TipSeptember is Fall Prevention Month! Falls are the most common cause of accidental injury among seniors in the United States.
A leading expert on falls, Dr. Lipsitz says prevention is the key to reducing falls among older adults. He offers the following tips:
If you take blood pressure medication, ask your doctor if you can take it between meals to avoid a large drop in blood pressure after eating.
Take safety precautions in your home, including removing scatter rugs, taping down electrical and telephone cords, installing grab bars in bathrooms, and keeping your home well lit.

Did You Know?
More than 2,500 varieties of apples are grown in the United
States, but only the crabapple is native to North America.
Apples contain no fat, sodium or cholesterol and are a good source
of fiber.
Apples ripen six to ten times faster at room temperature than if
they are refrigerated.
Apple varieties range in size from a little larger than a cherry to as large as a grapefruit. The largest apple ever picked weighed three
pounds.
It takes about 36 apples to create one gallon of apple cider.
Apples are a member of the rose family.
The top apple producers around the world are China, United
States, Turkey, Poland and Italy. Apples account for 50 percent of international deciduous fruit tree
production.
Apple trees take four to five years to produce their first fruit.
Nut CaseEating a handful of nuts every day makes you less likely to die from any cause. This amazing conclusion is from a study made by Tufts University Antioxidant Research Laboratory.
Nuts are good for you because they are rich in healthy unsaturated fats, protein, fiber, and vitamin E. Plus,
the total antioxidant capacity of that handful is comparable to a serving of broccoli or tomatoes.
