for his many years of service for Our Lady of Peace Parish and School. I know that Dick has helped our parish move forward with the buildings and grounds. We pray that Dick will enjoy his retirement! As you know, I will be leaving tomorrow for the Diocesan Priest Convocation. This is an important and crucial time for the Diocese of Columbus. A QUICK NOTE FROM BISHOP ROBERT BRENNAN
Friends,As you know, the priests of the diocese will gather this week for our Convocation. I realize the sacrifice this entails for all the people in our parishes. Thank you for your understanding. Would you be so kind as to remember us in prayer this week as we gather in prayer, reflection, collaboration and building each other up in the service of the Gospel? Your prayers always sustain us and so I turn to you in this special time. Strengthening the bonds of our communion as priests, we seek to serve you better that we might all be brought closer to the Lord. Sincerely in ChristBishop Brennan
DUE TO THE CONVOCATION, Our Lady of Peace will not have daily Mass
from Monday, September 30th, through Thursday, October 3rd.
Daily Mass will resume on Friday, October 4th at 8:30 a.m.
Please pray for Father Dooley and the priests of the Diocese of Columbus.
SPECIAL THANKS FROM FR. DOOLEY’S PARENTS

CHILDREN’S LITURGY LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS
Starting in October, we will once again be celebrating the Children’s Liturgy of the Word during 10:00 a.m. Mass. This year we are inviting all children aged 4 years old through second grade (during their preparation for First Communion).
Please prayerfully consider helping in this ministry. It is a wonderful way to help explain the Readings and Mass to some of the youngest members of the Church. We are in need of individuals or families who are willing to spend some of their time leading or assisting the children in the Liturgy of the Word for Children in language they will understand. We are not looking for a full time commitment, perhaps once a month or once every other month.
Leaders will lead children to the classroom during Mass before the Readings begin and will return to the congregation after the intentions. Please contact Margaret Allen at 217-218-6274 if you are interested. Thank you.
HOSPITALITY COMMITTEEThe Hospitality committee is having their next meeting Monday, September 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the church basement.
BISHOP BRENNAN IS COMING TO OUR LADY OF PEACE!
Bishop Robert Brennan will be making his first visit to Our Lady of Peace Parish and School!Bishop Brennan will be celebrating the 8:30 a.m. All-School Mass on Wednesday, October 16th. All in the parish are invited!

SERVICEOn Sunday, November 3, 2019, 4:00 p.m., Our Lady of Peace Parish will celebrate a special rite of remembrance during Vespers, or Evening Prayer. We invite you to join this
parish celebration. During Vespers, special recognition will be given to those families who have lost a loved one through death since November 2018. If your family has had a loved one die since November 2018, your family and friends are invited to participate in the Light Ceremony. We need to order and prepare the candles ahead of time, so please complete the form located in the Gathering Space by Thursday, October 31. PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST COMPLETE A FORM IN ORDER TO HAVE A CANDLE PREPARED FOR YOUR LOVED ONE. If you have any questions, please contact Deacon Jeffrey Fortkamp at 614-578-5420 or [email protected].
Are you suffering the loss of a loved one? Are you looking for friends to share in your grief and healing? Please join us at our Seasons of Hope Bereavement Ministry meetings. This is a Christ-Centered peer support group that meets for six weeks, four times per year. Each session includes Scripture, prayer, reflection, and sharing. During the fall season we will meet on September 29, October 6, 13, and 20 at St. Michael Church, located in Worthington at 5750 North High Street, 43085. Registration is from 1:30 to 1:55 p.m. each Sunday, with group sharing following, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. You may join us for any or all of our sessions. Please feel free to bring a friend! BETHESDA HEALING MINISTRY – POST ABORTION HEALING
The school bells are ringing. This could be a trigger for your motherhood if such an occasion is cause for you to remember the additional child who might have been dancing out the door. If these traditional motherhood experiences come to mind, it is normal and often an opportunity to be with other mothers who share the same inner longing and sadness. Abortion does have a memory. As the healing love of Jesus enters your heart and relationships, you will come to seek the intercessory prayer of your child who now rest in eternal joy. We welcome you on this journey. You are not alone. Bethesda Healing Ministry invites and welcomes you to come. There is a light in the window, Please call Bethesda Healing Ministry confidential phone lines at 614-309-2651 or 614-309-0157 or visit our website at www.bethesdahealing.org.
