NEWSLETTERS ARE DISTRUBITED FORTNIGHTLY ON EVEN WEEKS.

Tena ra koutou ki nga hau e wha – Greetings to everybody.

A couple of Fridays ago the Support Group saw all their

a great job as quizmaster, and all the sponsors who were

so generous. It is greatly appreciated.

This week we had some cross country runners compete

at the Whangarei Schools event at Barge Park. It was a

perfect day for it and our children were enthusiastic

participants. Our thanks go to Ms

Have a good weekend.

Cross Country

Our annual cross country was held Wednesday 22

August. Luckily the weather improved for us! It was

great to see the smiles of achievement as the children

scaled the hay bales, tip-toed over the car tyres,

slipped in the mud and generally strived to achieve their best. It was also pleasing to

see the final results from all the fitness training the children had been taking part

in, and hearing them comment how much they had cut off their initial times. Well done

to everyone for challenging themselves. That’s what it is all about!

Many thanks to the parent helpers for marshalling this event. Declan Clarke,

Andrea Moore-Boyle, Cath and David Lawson, Lisa Young, Cherie Tamahori, Jenny

Traill, Sarah Shaw, Harping and Robert Bowker.

ALSO thanks to the Support Group for organising the tea/coffee and nibbles.

Whangarei Cross Country

A team of 50 - 8, 9 and 10-

year-olds then challenged

themselves at Barge Park to

compete in the Whangarei

Schools Cross Country on

Wednesday 28th August. The

children were very well-organised and calm. The nerve-wracking part was lining

up with 130-150 other children at the start line! We are all very proud of the

way they supported and cheered for each other, and their awesome

sportsmanship.

Many thanks to Claudia

Reed and Caryn Magrath

for helping. Also to Jenny

Traill for gazebo support,

Nicky Slatter for your

help, and Ilona Harris for

providing the soothing

drum beats.
