Appointment of Consultant

� The owner / Developer may appoint qualified Consultant (graduate inCivil Engineering with minimum 3 years of experience in relevantfield) for issuing Internal SWD remarks, Design and CompletionCertificate thereof.

� The Consultant will be responsible for Internal Storm Water Drain/Street Connection. He will also be responsible for quality of SWDrain Work carried out at site.

• The min. formation / ground level of plot. - At least 28.04 M. (92.00’) THD or 15

cm. (6”) above the formation level of

existing / proposed footpath.

• For plot area upto 500 Sq.Mt. - No necessity for providing network of SWD, instead

the surrounding area of the buildings shall be paved

with proper slope towards the access road.

• For plot area more than 500 sq.m - The internal (closed/ open) S. W. Drain network

shall be provided as per the following

A - cross sectional area of drain required.

Q - plot area x rainfall intensity (I) x runoff coefficient (R)

V - 1.2 m per sec.(self cleansing velocity & Drain is running full)

I - Rainfall Intensity - 55 mm/hr

R - Runoff Co-efficient - 1.0

• The Storm Water Drain of required c/s area - To be laid by using R.C.C. pipes of

NP2 / NP3 class (I.S.I. only) duly encased with 15 cm. thick M-15 cement concrete all

around along with provision of water entrances having minimum size of 450mm. X

450mm. covered with M.S. / C.I. gratings.

• RCC storm water drain of required size - To be constructed in cement concrete of

Grade M-20 having minimum wall thickness of 20 cm which shall be covered with

gratings with minimum depth of 300 mm at starting point @ slope 1:400. The built up

drain shall be covered with prestressed R.C.C. / C.I. grating for entire length.

• The side / marginal open spaces shall be leveled, consolidated and paved with

cement concrete with proper slope in such a way to discharge the storm water into

proposed storm water entrances.

• Before starting of the work, invert levels of water entrance / manhole on Municipal

storm water drain / road side open SWD to which internal S. W. Drain is to be

connected shall be confirmed on site with reference to invert level of last catch pit

chamber of the plot.

• The bottom of catch pit chamber shall be provided minimum 60 cm (2’) below the

invert level of pipe.

• The access / internal layout roads / D.P. Roads shall be provided with closed Storm

Water Drain with regular water entrances at 10 m (30’) and manholes at 10 m (30’)

c/c at developer’s cost.

• The road side drain to be provided with cross sectional area equal to 1/10th of the

Other Conditions:

• If the Rain Water Harvesting system is proposed within the plot then, the internal

SWD network shall be provided such that the entire storm water collected shall be

discharged into the pit of Rain Water Harvesting system and Overflow connection

shall be made to the nearest SWD on the Municipal road.

for SWD Remarks

• If during the execution of work of the proposed buildings, if any Storm Water Drain,

is found existing within the plot, the work of proposed building shall be stopped and

the same shall be brought to the notice of MCGM immediately. No further work shall

be commenced unless the remarks regarding the same are obtained from MCGM.

• If the basement are proposed, then the necessary arrangement shall be provided in

basement in accordance with relevant IS Code for proper collection and disposal of

storm water. The arrangement shall also be made to pump out the water of the

basement to the nearest water entrance within the property by providing sump well.

• The street connection – It shall be made with adequate size of R.C. pipe NP2 /

NP3 class (I.S.I. only), duly encased with 15 cm thick M-15 grade cement

concrete all around from last catch pit chamber to Municipal S.W. Manhole /

water entrances.

• Street connection shall be made only after the necessary permission for road

opening is obtained from A.E. (Maint.) of the concerned ward.

• The work of providing S.W. Drain from last catch pit chamber to Municipal

S.W. Drain shall be carried out under the supervision and as per suggestions

of A.E. (Env.) / A.E. (maint.) of concerned ward.

• In case, if it is not possible to connect internal S.W. Drain to existing manhole

on Municipal Storm Water Drain due to site constraints or if the existing

manhole is far away from the plot, then the internal S.W. Drain shall be

connected to Municipal S.W. Drain by constructing additional manhole on

Municipal S.W. Drain at owner / developer’s cost.

ROAD SETBACK PORTION

• During construction of foot path water entrances affected by set back shall be

shifted suitably by extending existing laterals.

• If shifting of water entrance is not possible by extending the existing laterals

then new water entrance at suitable place shall be provided.then new water entrance at suitable place shall be provided.

• The works in the set back portion shall be carried out under supervision of AE

(Env.) / AE (maint.) of concern ward.

COMPLETION CERTIFICATE

• Completion Certificate along with plan of S.W. Drains as carried out on site duly

signed by Consultant and also by the Licensed Plumber in the prescribed format

(Appendix II ).(Appendix II ).

• Completion of street connection from last catch pit chamber to Municipal S. W. Drain

shall be obtained from AE (Env.) / AE (maint.) of the concerned ward.

3. Minimum formation level of the plot required.

28.04 M (92 feet) above T.H.D. or 15cm. above the formation level of the raised footpath or the

existing access road whichever is higher.

4. Adequate storm water drains has been designed in the property including provision for

admitting storm water coming from the surrounding locality if required in future.

5. While constructing the S.W. Drain invert level of the drain has been designed such as to admit

the storm water coming from the adjoining areas.the storm water coming from the adjoining areas.

Additional remarks :

1. The access / internal roads of the layout has been provided with S.W. Drains on each/one side

having an area of ________Sq.m. (as indicated in the accompanying plan). The remarks are

offered considering the CTS boundaries as shown in the proposed plans by the Architect/LS..

2. The road side drains, if any, should be constructed on final R.L. obtained from CompetentAuthority.

3. Side open spaces have been proposed to be leveled consolidated and paved with proper slope

to drain in such a way to dispose off the storm water into the S.W. Drains as proposed and/into

the existing drains along Municipal Roads.

4. The storm water drains as per these remarks are proposed to be constructed and the walls

shall be in C.C. M-20 of minimum thickness 0.20 m. over a bed concrete of M-15 c.c. 15 cm

thick and M-20 c.c. haunches of 8 cm thick with cement plaster in cm (1:2) 12 mm thick for

haunches.

5. The gradient of the drains are proposed in such way to create velocity of 1.20 m. / sec. In

case of steep localities where velocity is likely to exceed 2.40m. / Sec. intermediate drop in

invert have been provided.invert have been provided.

6. Existing covered/open SWD on ______ wide _________ Road shall be cleaned, repaired &

maintained.

7. Water entrances of size 0.45 m x 0.45 m clear opening with G.I. grating at top and silt trap at

bottom and connect the same to S.W.D through 300 mm dia laterals at 5.00 m c/c distance

near road side compound wall along _____ and _____ as per municipal specifications inside

the plot, shall be provided.

8. Carriage entrance of AA Class loading slab at every gate with opening of size 0.60mx0.90m

at center along with heavy duty frame and cover and locking arrangement shall be provided.

9. Proper arrangement to dispose of storm water from paved/unpaved open spaces R.G., ramp,

approaches & internal road has been proposed to avoid flooding during monsoon season.

10. The invert of the S.W.D on upstream side is proposed to be higher than the invert on

downstream side drain.

11. The compound wall shall not be constructed on S.W.D wall / nalla wall.

engineer and stability & completion certificate from lic. structural Engineer shall be submitted

before completion certificate.

land and structures thereon.
