Week 7: Sunday, 21 May 2023Dear Riverina family and whanau,
Talofa Lava and Afio mai!
The theme for Samoa Language week is 'Tapena sou ōso mo lau malaga' which in English means 'Prepare yourself a gift for your travels'.
This means to prepare for the journey ahead. It highlights the need to honour, respect and share the gifts of our life's journey.
When Pacific People travel, they take their traditions with them, allowing them to share ōso (gifts/food) with everyone they meet along the way. And with these gifts they build, nurture and strengthen language, culture and identity.
This week in school we are learning a word a day. Can you learn them too? Hello/bye- Talofa/

At the end of the week the students will patriciate in a Kahoots Quiz - we will also send the link home for families to participate. If you have any facts or photos about Samoa for the quiz we would love you to share this.

Unfortunately, this term all interschool sports and cultural events have been cancelled or postponed until further notice.
Lockdown Learning
During lockdown learning we all had different experiences of teaching and learning from a distance. While we are pleased to be back in school we would like to retain some of the successful practices during this time. We would love to have your feedback to help us review our curriculum delivery.
You can return the answers to the questions below to school or link to a survey online (Survey Monkey- https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/R2HWL86) Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
