The occupation of the sidewalk creates a big terrace with a variety of food choices

Sundays its the day for design exhibitions to locals and tourist

Orrego Luco is a street and in front of it is an Orrego Luco pedestrian street “ Paseo Orregoluco”. First was born as a nightly destination because of the great connectivity (Metro station, Taxi, Car) safe environment and happy hours famous places Now it is a food destination for tourist, locals and Office workers from around because of the influx of restaurants . The restaurants take over all the sidewalk to cite his tables and the whole street become a big open terrace whit variety of food and drinks surrounded by beautiful buildings and a part of the car's nose. The street has an identity and the regulation plan keep it that way with restriction of high and the preservation of historical properties. Its preserves and active the historic preservation area with service to locals and tourist visitors. It is activated in every moment, from day to night and weekends are for design exhibitions that keeps the commercial destination. It an stable location because the space is limited and is full of restaurants.

For the understanding of the street the context shows what's going on that creates the attraction for this street and how the regulation plan keeps the identity of the historical buildings and reinforce the tourist attraction with gourmet restaurants and the activation of the area with commercial stores to generate flow.

Centro Cultural GAM is a cultural center named by the famous poet Gabriela Mistral. Located in the Center of the city, surrounded by historical buildings, typical areas , Historical monuments and in the main street of Santiago – Avenida Alameda - next to a Metro Station is a Great Place and Cultural destination for showing national and international art scenes, conferences, concerts and theatre performance . Also the building has a cafeteria.restaurant and library. The open areas of the building give space for handmade craft exhibitions ,healthy food seller and public social meetings. It is a restored iconic building in the city and was made from a public competition for his architectural proposal to renovate the old building and give new facilities for culture and recreation to the city.

The building has more than 22000 mt2 and has an important political history. First was conceived by Communist president Allende for social purposes and after the dictatorship of Pinochet takes place it was adapted for government proposal and was a closed building. After a big fire the president Michelle call for a public competition to remake the building and that's how the cultural center Gabriela mistral reprises his vocation and become the most important referent for cultural activities in the city. The project was basically working with the existing infrastructure and under the roof it articulates new public spaces between the 3 sections of the new building. The building its open to the community by the incorporation of community program and the legimitation of the projects gets through incorporation of social agents

Nueva Las Condes is a new office building area develop by private real estate for office buildings that include a commercial Boulevar , different food service and cafeterias between the buildings. The area gets a complete different look, modern with high rise buildings covered in glass with open space between them , and that's what makes this place special, the open space is given to the trespassing of pedestrian and generates social meeting from the office workers of the tower and the surrounding areas with service to activate the area. Also the sideways gets improvement with sitting equipment , gardens and light at night to secure walk

Management rises from 2 real estate venture to develop a set of office buildings against the Araucanian Park. 2 Architecture office works together to generate a global idea and create the buildings in a Masterplan with a pedestrian boulevard as a principal target. With the pedestrian boulevard in mind the site the buildings that define the limits of the big open inside a space. For the definition of access, plazas and commercial central space they study the paths, pauses and service location. The Masterplan has a landscape design by Teresa Leyton and new buildings has been incorporated into it. The new architect's office in charge project normatively with the original architects respecting the matrix idea of the pedestrian boulevard

The buildings generate an open facade in the first floor, growing the sidewalk and given green views with green walls and gardens to the public space

The modern buildings left a big open foyer to give the perception of more space. The floor is modelled to give pedestrian walks with steps and plazas with water to make a nice trespassing side to side

Restaurants and cafeterias are located between the buildings to serve the office workers and the locals with variety of options and views to the plazas and water falls.

The buildings give to the sideway green areas, instead of enclosure d the sites. Also the give light at night to make a more secure walk.
