Council expects that the candidates willdemonstrate their involvement on the variousprojects by reference to data tables, statistics, charts, engineering formula and/orspecifications, diagrams, schematic etc.

    Chapter 5Analytical Tools

The Engineering process almost always endup in a decision being taken and suchdecisions can have as basis the engineersassessment of the probability of occurrenceof some events, and the relation betweencertain events and their time of occurrences, and their time of appraisal of investmentsover machinery, payback periods, etc, etc.

It is expected therefore that the candidatesfor registration demonstrate that they arefamiliar with techniques that are utilised inthe decision process, and know at least aparticular technique and its applications.

Candidates should develop awareness of theuse of computers within their own branch of

engineering and in particular the use ofapplication software in their day to day work.

This chapter on Analytical Tools may notnecessarily be a chapter on its own. It canbe an Appendix to the Report and consist ofa collection of formula, techniques, etc whichare better located here than in chapter 3 and4.

    Chapter 6

    Conclusion

A concluding chapter, where the applicant isexpected to tell about his own perception ofhis training period, as well as any short-

comings therein, any anticipated fields ofimprovement, etc.

Note1 Each page of the report MUST be initialledby the Supervisor. The Supervisor shall bea registered Professional Engineer, qualifiedin the applicants field of expertise and withat least 4 years of qualified Post-

    Registration experience in engineering.

Note 2 Each applicant shall submit one original andtwo copies of his / her technical report andhis / her training log-book along with theapplication for registration.

Note 3 Council encourages applicants to includetheirown drawings in their report. Councilwill NOT accept any drawings which havebeen drafted for a purpose other than theregistration report, unless specific

permission from the owner(s) of thedrawings are included as part of the report.

    Chapter 7

    Summary of Competences

A last chapter of the report shall be asummary of the competences claimed in thetraining report, indexed with the corecompetences required in the CRPEStandard for Professional Engineering

    Competence

The format of the competences claimed isincluded in the next section. The Summaryof Competences is indexed to thecandidates assessment sheets, available fordownload from the Councils website.
