C o n t e n t s
On behalf of all our campers, thank you to all of
those who made this event possible. We hope
you have an enjoyable evening.
Auction proceeds benefit
Lakeview Ministries’
General Operating Fund
and the
Camp Lakeview Foundation.
Building year-round retreat facilities expanded the reach of
Lakeview Ministries to adults and families, and the addition of
Lakeview Villages allowed us to accommodate a long waiting list
of summer campers. With these additions, the branches of our
Camp “tree” extended into new territory, and new roots of
involvement and impact grew even across state lines.
Lakeview Ministries continues to grow; the latest
outcropping being the addition of Camp Cedarbrook.
The Lord continues to bring growth to our branches
and root structure. It is such a blessing to be able to
expand and impact even more individuals with the
Gospel of Christ. The roots may be spread very wide,
but they are all a part of one Ministry. All of our efforts
are “ROOTED and built up in Him.” Lakeview
Ministries is strong because He is at the center of it all.
He provides the nourishment to our branches. He
provides the support to uphold the branches as they
continue to grow. His gifts of grace and salvation are
reaching more families and impacting more lives.
Thank you for being a part of that expansion and doing
His work through your support of Lakeview Ministries.
— David Vandercar, Executive Director
2 2016 CAMP LAKEVIEW DINNER AUCTION
Specia l Donation
At 8:15, we will briefly suspend the oral auction for a special fund-raising effort.
At this time our auctioneer will be accepting donations instead of bids. We will seek bidders starting at the $1,000 level,
then work our way down to $750, $500, $250, $100, $50, and $25.
Contributors to tonight’s special donation item will fund the purchase of
a new tractor and repairs to the existing tractor. Admittedly, your
camper probably won’t come home from camp raving about the
awesome maintenance gear, but a tractor is arguably the most
important and widely used piece of equipment on camp. Behind the
scenes of a great week at camp is a tractor that works like another staff
member to assist in the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities.
Rarely does a day go by that the tractor is not put to work. Just look at
a sampling of the amount of labor our current tractor has undertaken in
its time at Lakeview! (See the chart to the right.)
As we enter a new era at Lakeview Ministries with the addition of a third
site, Camp Cedarbrook, we now must consider how our resources can
best support Lakeview Ministries as a whole. In years past, our special
donation item focused on a single, site-specific item. This year’s item
was selected to have maximum impact on all three of our facilities…
The new tractor will be housed and utilized at Camp Lakeview
and Lakeview Villages. It is slightly larger than the current
tractor and will be more capable of handling the tasks that we
often call upon it to perform. One addition that the new tractor
will have over the old is that it will be outfitted with a backhoe
attachment. This will greatly increase its potential uses and
impact to our ministry.
Camp’s current tractor will be moved to its new home at the Camp Cedarbrook site. After making the
needed repairs, the tractor will function very well and serve an important role in the upkeep and development
of the new facility. Currently there is no tractor at Camp Cedarbrook, and this causes some difficulties when it
comes to making improvements and keeping the facilities in good working order. Our trusty tractor will be a
critical part of camp work there, as it has been at Camp Lakeview for the past 15 years.
Thank you for your donations in order to support
this very important project that will impact all three
of our sites for many years to come.
Any additional funds raised will go towards the Camp
Lakeview Foundation Equipment Maintenance Fund.

6 2016 CAMP LAKEVIEW DINNER AUCTION
Auct ion Rules
General Policy
Lakeview Ministries’ Auction Committee makes its best effort to verify that all items are genuine, but makes no representations with respect thereto and is not responsible for any warranties expressed or implied with respect to items purchased. The successful bidder agrees to the above and further agrees to only look to the donor for the satisfaction of said warranties. Thank you for supporting Lakeview Ministries! General Rules
1. The item for which you have been the successful bidder is donated. There will be absolutely no exchanges or refunds unless specifically stated.
2. Failure, for whatever cause, to arrange for the trip, meal, party, etc. within the time limit and according to the specific conditions imposes absolutely no obligation on the donor or Lakeview Ministries for a refund.
3. All items of this auction are sold on an “as is” or “where is” basis. No warranties are expressed or implied.
4. All auction items must be removed on Saturday evening. The camp is not responsible for items left after this time.
5. Camp Lakeview will deliver larger purchases to buyers in the Seymour, Columbus, or Indianapolis areas. These deliveries will be at the convenience of the Lakeview Ministries staff and will occur no later than November 30
th.
6. If you are the successful bidder on an item, volunteers will bring the winning bid sheet to your table to inform you.
7. When you are ready to pay, bring all your winning bid sheets to the Cashier’s table for payment. All payments must be made in full during the evening by cash, check, Discover, Visa, Mastercard, or American Express. Payment for Oral and Silent Auction items may be made together.
8. After payment is made, the successful bidder should take the white receipt marked “PAID” to the respective booth worker who will retrieve the item for you. The buyer will endorse the receipt upon retrieval of the item purchased by signing the pink copy located at the booth.
Special Oral Auction Rule
You must have a bid paddle to make a bid during the oral auction. The successful bidder will hold up his/her bid paddle showing the number to the auctioneer.
Special Silent Auction Rules
1. Persons desiring to bid may do so as many times as they wish on each item by writing the bid paddle number and new amount below the previous bidder on the bid sheet. A valid bid consists of a bidder number and a whole dollar amount. No name is necessary.
2. Be considerate. Please do not block others from bidding.
3. When the siren blares to close a silent booth, all bidding must stop immediately. This will not necessarily occur at the exact time listed in the auction program.
4. Please do not go home while you are still the highest bidder on a silent auction item at an open booth.
NOTE: The Camp Lakeview Auction Committee is deeply appreciative of your willingness to support Camp
Lakeview by your attendance. For your tax purposes, we would like to alert you to the following IRS regulation. As
prescribed by IRS Code, Section 170 and regulations, an admission charge, which includes consideration of goods
and services to the donor, is only deductible to the extent that the donor contribution exceeds the fair market value
of any goods and services received. Therefore, for IRS purposes, the meal and entertainment value of the evening
is $40 per person. Any amount above $40 that you paid for admittance can be considered a donation. Also for
IRS purposes, any amount paid for an item above its fair market value can be considered a donation.

The Dessert Dash This fun activity determines which table gets to choose its dessert first from the variety of treats on display at the front of the room.
The guests at each table should determine how much their dessert choice is worth to them. The table that donates the most money during the Dessert Dash will get first choice of all the desserts on display. The table that donates the least amount of money will choose last from any remaining desserts on display.
On each table is a Dessert Dash bid sheet. Pass this sheet around the table and have everyone fill in the amount he or she would like to donate towards the Dessert Dash. Once everyone at the table has had the chance to make a bid, add them up and record the total bid.
All Dessert Dash bid sheets will be collected at 6:45, and the winning table will be announced at 7:00. From this point on, tables will be released every 15 seconds until the last table is called. Make sure to designate a person from your table who will be ready to “Dash” to the dessert display when your table is called.
This activity will not only satisfy your sweet tooth, but all money raised will go to help Lakeview Ministries satisfy the cravings that our campers have for a summer camp experience. Thank you for your donation and support.
Continuing at this year’s auction is the “Bid It Up Raffle,” featuring two incredible prizes (shown below and on display at the front of the room, center stage). The only way to obtain raffle tickets for these prizes is to become involved in the silent auction. You will be rewarded a raffle ticket each and every time that you increase a bid by $5. You can receive multiple raffle tickets by bidding an item up by multiples of $5. Each time you bid, inform a silent both assistant of the amount raised, and the assistant will give you your raffle tickets. You will receive a pair of tickets with matching numbers; simply tear the tickets apart and put one of them in the bucket corresponding to the item you desire to win. Keep the second ticket until the drawings at the end of the oral auction.
You must be present in order to claim your prize.

Simplicity Revealed
Senior Project to Benefit Camp Lakeview My name is Kobbe Claycamp. I am a
senior at Columbus East High School. For
my senior project this year, I decided to
make pottery pieces to donate to the
Camp Lakeview Dinner Auction. I
attended Camp Lakeview for five years as
a camper and was a Junior Counselor for
the last two years, so I wanted to do
something special for Lakeview Ministries for my senior
project. A little bit about myself: I
currently play football for Columbus
East; I will also play rugby in the
spring. I am a member at White
Creek Lutheran Church. Ever since I
took a 3D art class my sophomore
year, I enjoyed doing pottery. It is my
third year in this art class.
All pieces are handmade by Columbus East Students.

This year’s Polar Slide is expected to be the biggest in the three year history of the event. Since the inception of the event we have raised over $11,500 towards the general operating fund. We have decided that this year and every subsequent year, the funds raised from the Polar Slide will be given to the Camp Lakeview Foundation in order to support the Tom “Digger” Franke Campership Fund. Each year this fund distributes a minimum of 10% of its value to provide grants for children to come to camp. The more that is donated to this fund, the more kids we are able to provide camperships.
This year, the Polar Slide is not limited to staff members— it is open to anyone crazy enough to participate! If a winter waterslide isn’t up your alley, consider getting involved as a donor or spectator. Come cheer on your frosty friends while enjoying coffee or hot cocoa and roasting s’mores around a crackling campfire. The event will be held on December 18th at 2:00. If you would like more information or a pledge form, visit www.camplakeview.com or speak with a staff member tonight at the registration/checkout table in the hallway.
