Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,Safe Haven Sunday As I shared last weekend, pornography is hurting many people, including marriages and families, singles, priests and religious, and even children. It hurts the healthy process of vocational discernment for our young people. Pornography use impacts the relationships of children with their parents, husbands with their wives (and vice versa), the pastor with his community, and most importantly, our relationship with our Lord. We need to be proactive about the issue of pornography in the life of the home with children and ensure the home keeps its status as a safe haven for all. The use of pornography by anyone in the home deprives the home of its role as a safe haven and has negative effects throughout a family’s life and across generations. Pornography has led to the break-up of marriages. It is an epidemic. This weekend we launch our Safe Haven Sunday. There is a FREE Book available for each family located in the entrance. Please take advantage of this resource and follow the confidential instructions. Every family should take a book because this effects every single family. Sadly, there are no exceptions! Support is here! Take advantage of it!Safe Haven Family Prayer Loving Father, thank you for the gift of marriage and family life. We entrust to you our home, where our marriage and family live and grow. We ask you to make it a safe haven for all who live and enter these walls. May our home be a holy place for both young and old to be formed in the truth regarding life, love, sex and marriage. May each of our members be protected from and guided in seeking to avoid pornography, while embracing the freedom and purity of life in Christ. If there are past wounds that have occurred due to the availability of pornography on our family’s devices or lack of awareness, we ask you to send forth your Spirit to heal, bless, renew and consecrate this home as a safe haven with your son Jesus Christ at the center of our lives, today, tomorrow and always. “We ask this in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus through the intercession of the Holy Family of Nazareth, Saints Joachim and Anne and the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Amen.Lent and Liturgy During the 40 Days of Lent, consider adding to your spiritual journey. Daily Mass is celebrated Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (times are located in the bulletin). We will be praying the Stations of the Cross at 7:00pm on Wednesday at Holy Redeemer and on Friday at St. Charles Borromeo. Eucharistic Adoration is Wednesday from 8:30am until 7:00pm at Holy Redeemer and on Thursday beginning at 6:00am through Friday at 12 Noon at St. Charles Borromeo. Best Lent Ever I’d like to invite you to join me and your fellow parishioners for BEST LENT EVER, a free email program from Dynamic Catholic. Lent comes every year. It’s meant to be a time when we invite God to help us become the-best-version-of-ourselves. But for many of us, Lent isn’t a transformative experience. It’s just a time when we give up chocolate or something else we enjoy, then go back to it at Easter. This year, you can change that with BEST LENT EVER. Each day of Lent, you’ll receive a short inspirational video that will help you find areas for growth, build better habits, and spark lasting change in your life. All you have to do is sign up at BestLentEver.com – and it’s free! Lenten Book Study There are still open time slots for the Live Lent Book Study. Sign-ups are available in the entrances of our parishes. This is a great time to meet other parish members and learn from each other while on the journey to Easter together! All materials are free – the only cost is your time!God Loves you!Fr. Tim

Welcome Whether you are a current parish member, visiting our

Day of Fasting and Prayer for the Evangelization of the DioceseEveryone in the diocese who is so moved is welcome to join in a monthly day of prayer and fasting for the

evangelization of Southern Minnesota. Our inaugural novena of fasting and prayer days begins March 15.People are encouraged to fast as they are able and

pray for their friends, family, and neighbors in Southern Minnesota, that we all may know the love and power of

Jesus Christ.People near Winona are encouraged and welcomed to come to a Holy Hour on March 15th dedicated to

prayer for our friends within Southern Minnesota at the Basilica of St. Stanislaus. The Holy Hour begins at 6pm

in the main church.Evangelization is not a better public relations initiative

or putting our hope in a particular program. It is the Lord’s conversion of our hearts, of disciples being willing to reach out, and those without Christ being willing to openly listen to them. It simply does not happen without prayer and fasting. Thank you for making people aware that they could participate in this element of evangelization. There will be more

information about this on the Missionary Discipleship website soon.

“Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus...was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days.” Luke 4:1-2 Lent is a time of honesty with oneself to look at what will bring me closer to God. What are those things that distract and pull me away from the person that is the best version of myself? We need to rely heavily on the Holy Spirit to help us find ourselves during the Lenten season. I have to admit that some Lents have gone by with little effort to become a better person, but one of the best Lents I experienced was my first one in the Seminary. It was also the first time I experienced a slient retreat. There was something about that silence that really opened my heart to the Holy Spirit and I really felt God working through me that year. Its not too late to discern with the help of the Holy Spirit what will make you into the best version of yourself this Lent and beyond!

New Ideas I am always looking for new ideas - if you have questions, comments or you just want to talk, stop by, give me a call or email.

Blessings! Dennis
