PARIKSHA PE CHARCHA Date & Venue: On 29.01.2019, the interactive session was organized in the Computer Lab

Demonstrator & Presenter:

Conducted by : Grade IX - XII Presented by : Hon. PM (On line) Theme : Prime Minister’s address to the students regarding examination Agenda: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with several students from across the country and shared his personal experiences with the young audience regarding exam stress. Participants: Students of Grade IX - XII Highlights: PM’s views were also shared with the other students:

There is a life beyond exams. Technology should lead to expansion of the mind and support as a means to innovate. Our learning cannot be reduced to exams only. Our education must equip us to face various challenges of life as well. Expectations are essential, we can't be living in an atmosphere of despair and unhappiness.

When people have aspirations from a person, it is good. In a nation like ours, the topic of depression is very worrying but our culture has

mechanisms to cope with this. The more we talk openly about aspects relating to depression the better the mental health. We must always express, never suppress.

Students from various schools made a few points on the need of further improvement in education system and ensure that exams are not only reduced to rote learning but also showcase what students have learnt.

Clarity of thought and conviction are essential. Science and math are essential but there are other subjects too worth exploring. There are opportunities in so many areas now.

PM requested the parents not to expect their children to fulfil their unfulfilled dreams. Every child has his or her own potential and strength so it is important to understand these positives of every child.

The PM advised students not to be totally relaxed before an exam but, ask yourselves if this is an exam of your life or is it just an exam for a particular grade like Class X or XII? Once you know the answer to this, your pressure will reduce.

Outcome: It was stressed that

Counselling is not bad thing. Talking about one’s problems is very good. A person does not always get depressed all of a sudden. There are signs that show a person

is heading into depression. Ignoring these signs is not a good idea. On the contrary, we must talk about this.

Devise ways to make studies more fun.

Exams help one to improve one's personality.

Students gave a positive feedback regarding the discussion on examination stress.
