LaGrange Interested In Joining SAD 41 At a special town meeting
heid last Monday night, citizens of LaGrange voted on two articles regarding applying for entrance into School Administrative Districts.
Onar article to authorize the school board to start proceedings to investigate entr ance into SAD #41 'IVithMilo, Atkinson and Lakeview the vote went 51 FOR and 42 AGAINST.
On the defeated article; to do the same thing with a newly organized SAD in Milford, the vote was 39 for, 52 against.
Fina.l voting on whether or not to actually join SAD #41 will take place at the regular town meeting in March.
SAD #41 will have to vote on acceptance of LaGrange.
New School To Start SAD #41 has accepted the bid
ofFredi. Merrill, Inc. ofSollth Portland for construction of the new High School Building.
Equipment is now being moved onto the lot and work is expected to start this week.

PISCATAQUIS COUNTY CHAPTER-MARCH OF DIMES A pre-Campaign meeting of the Piscataquis County Chapter of
The National Foundation, March of Dimes was held at DoverFoxcroft Saturday. Following a luncheon in the cafeteria of the FoxcroftAcademy a short program was presented. Paul H. Day, CountyChapter Chairman introduced Robert R. Michael, State Teens Advisor for the March of Dimes. ~Iichael , a veteran radio personality and former disc jockey,
is manager of Radio Station WJAB in Westbrook and has served in March of Dimes campaigns since 1947. He is married to the former Virginia Lee Nuss of Wilkesbarre , Pa., a nurse at Mercy Hospital in Portland, where they reside with their daughter, Cheryl. Mr. Michael outlined to the Teen Age Program Chairmen pre
sent the vital part the youth play in the campaign which begins in January. He then presented a color sound film entitled • 'This Land is Your Land" which tells the story of the great programs of The National Fouudation, e.x,tending the understanding of how March of Dimes funds are put to work. Chairman Day briefed the Town Chairmen and workers on de
tails ot the campaign, followed by a question and answer period. Mr. Michael expects to work closely with the T. A. P. Chairmen in planning their activities . The following Town Chairmen and workers attended: Mrs. Doug

The High School Chorus provided some selections for the pro· gram.
The students of S. A. D. #4 presented a Christmas Concert at The P . C.H.S. Gymnasium last Friday evening. Takingpartin the program were the Junior Band, the .Pirate Band and mt: liigh School Chorus as well as several instrumenta:l groups. The mue;ic played was religious, classical and popular. The bands were under the direction of Norwood ·Olmsted and the chorus was led by Miss Edna Mae Littlefield.

WSCS HELPING HAND CHAPTER- METHODIST CHURCH WSCS Helping Hand Chapter of the Methodist Church met at the
church Tuesday evening. A coffee dessert was served at 7 P· m. by the hostessess, Ruth Stuart, Ethel Ladd, Doris Dor e , F lor ence Bodfish and Ann Hayden. Meeting opened with The P ur pose , Charlotte Merrill, President presiding. The Chris trnas Wor s hi p was led by Mrs. :Mary Vanasek. Cards were reported sent to missionaries and 21 boxes of fudge sent to men in the armed services in the U.S. An invitation was read from the Community Church to attend their tea, Wednesday afternoon, and greetings from Vaughn Michaud and Rev. Joseph Griffith received. Money was voted for new hymnals and volunteers were asked to pack Christmas remembrances Dec. 22nd. 36 calls were reported. The next meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Kentin Jan. Meeting closed with the WSCS benediction and the meeting was followed by an interesting talk by Mr. Carl v. Puleo of Portland Good Will Industries , Inc. A film wa s shown regarding the work.

take place. Candidates were selected by nomination of the entire student body from members of the top three classes . Candidates for the honor this year are: Miss Deborah Daggett, Class of 1967; and the Misses Sheila Decker, Sheila Sma rt, Brenda P erry and Louise Cunningham, all members of the Class of 1968. Flower boy for the coronation will be David Carey , while crown bearer will be Jon O'Connor. The crowning will be done by the past Queens, Miss Darla Perry, 1964 and Suzanne Pullen, 1963 .. The Ball is free to all holders of activi ty tickets of Milo High. An admission charge of $1.00

A special meeting of the Bernard Jones Unit#92 was held for the purpose of entertaining the Dept. President, Mrs. Marg;.. aret Jenney of Be lgrade, alid Vice president of the 5th district, Mrs. Madeline Sweet of Buckspor t and Girls' State Delegate Miss Esther Priestman of Brownville Junction.
Representatives of Units attended from Greenville, Guilford, Sangerville, Dexter and Milo. Refreshments were served by the host unit.
