OGM in partnership with ILampFS Skills have successfully trained and placed a further batch of weldinggraduates into jobs with Nasser S Al Hajri (NSH) in Saudi Arabia

The felicitation ceremony at NSDC offices was attended by Mr Manish Kumar (MD amp CEO NSDC) Mr SushimBanerjee (CEO Indian Iron amp Steel Sector Skill Council) Mr RCM Reddy (MD amp CEO ILampFS Skills) and other keypersonnel from NSDC ILampFS OGM along with the successful trainees on March 6th

The six month intensive training program combining Institute and On the job training was organised byOGM with Leighton India Testing and certification was managed through the Indian Sector Skill Councilfollowed by Saudi employer testing The training institute infrastructure curriculum trainers and processesof IIS Ropar were audited and approved by OGM as per Australian Qualification Framework Traineesunderwent rigorous training for TIG MIG and ARC welding to meet global standards

An important component of the training is the on site (OJT) for three months where trainees gain realexposure and insights on commercial sites across Leighton projects where safety and technology standardsare amongst the best in India While learning and working OGM trainees were paid a stipend with meals andaccommodation provided by Leighton India

Post successful completion of the OJT formal testing was organised where welding was tested on quality andspeed under radiographic testing Job offers were then made to successful trainees by NSH with grade andsalary confirmation along with other benefits including over time boarding lodging meals medical andinsurance provided NSH

OGM in partnership with ILampFS are proud of the world class skills which have been imparted to these youngmen through our training programs OGM training opens up a whole new career pathway and puts these menon the global map representing Indiarsquos skilled workforce Our International programs are being continuallyexpanded across ILampFS locations in India

First TVET Advanced Trainer and Assessment (stage 2) International Training and

Assessment Course (ITAC) delivered successfully in India

OGM in partnership with KANGAN Institute successfully completed the first overseas delivery of the Stage 2TVET Advanced Trainer and Assessor Course (ITAC) in India

The two-week intensive program delivered by BKI trainer Frances Hales covered the following key topics witha strong emphasis on leadership and managerial skills in relation to becoming a certified TVET MasterTrainer

Attendees included stage 1 graduates from Leighton India ILampFS and from OGM staff including OGM SaudiArabia Manager Abdul Alwabari The course emphasised

Part 1 Providing leadership in training and assessment

Part 2 Develop training programs resources and assessment tools and

Part 3 Mentoring working with industry partners and evaluation

Selected successful gradates will now progress to the 3rd and final stage of the ITAC program which includesthe delivery of the Basic TVET Trainer and Assessor course under KANGAN Institute supervision and qualitymanagement to participants in India and Saudi Arabia in April 2017
