• ‘Everybody Has Got to Learn Sometimes’ 学海无涯 -------by Zhang Dai, 《 Xiao Xu 》 , in Ming Dyna

sty

It means that we need to keep studying during our lifetime, even if we are old.

• Learning verb : learn + “-ing” 学习

The Present Continuous Tense: this verb with a su

ffix ‘-ing’ means that there is no time limit for this thing forever, and in other words, we should keep it without cease.

Now we can know the relationship between Xue Xi( 学习 ) and Learning. Both of them are a kind of state or process for people to get new and unknown things such as knowledge, skills, and methods, etc, however, this state or process is continual and unending. No matter in Chinese or in English, in a sense, Learning (Xue Xi, 学习 ) is a skill in itself, so people always do their best to understand and grasp it, at the same time it also change the attitude and way people live. That is the reason why I translate Learning into Xue Xi( 学习 ) in Chinese. The meaning of this word in Chinese and in English in this aspect is very similar, so much so that we can consider they are same.

Reasons why I choose this song

• It is a famous and classical song known by many people.

• The whole song has a light rhythm which is very upbeat and fun.

• A simple song teaches people how to sing.

• Notes metaphorize into actual things.
