Your English III notebook will consist of six sections separated by 6 tabbed dividers. The tabs should be

labeled as follows:

Information—this will include the class syllabus, the policies and procedures, the grading policy and this paper.

Journals – daily journals; you must write between 5-7 sentences for each journal; spelling and grammar count so do your best; use best penmanship; stay caught up! This counts as a TEST GRADE!

Vocabulary—vocabulary lists, literary terminology, unit vocabulary, Latin and Greek roots

Study Guides —these guides come from the literature we read; also include word searches and crossword puzzles

Graded Essays/Notes—includes notes that you take from the board, lecture, or notes I give you already typed, etc.; essays assigned throughout the year

Literary Project – every unit will include a literary project for that unit; keep rough draft and final copy behind this tab

Grading Notebooks:

Every 9-weeks we will have a notebook test. Keep your notebook in order by section. The study guides need to be in order by selection page number. The test will consist of questions from the reading selections, vocabulary, syllabus, crosswords, word searches, etcNotebook Grade will count as a test grade.

Your English notebook should always be kept neat and in order. I will do a random “inspection” of them at various times every grading period. Keep it in your backpack or your locker. Your notebook must accompany you to class every day.

No excuses—come prepared and keep your notebook organized!
