• Do you know any women working in the industrial sector?

• In recent years, the number of women working in industry in Ireland has increased. In pairs, try to identify reasons for this.

The Developed World - Ireland

• In the past, women worked inside the home. Today, many chose careers outside of it. There are many reasons for this:

1. Free secondary education2. Women’s liberation movement of the 1970s.

Change in the status of women and their roles in society. Legislation changed to allow women to continue working after getting married.
