A raffle draw will be included for those players not who do not win any of the other prizes. You must be present to win.

19th Annual Abqaiq Open Tournament Guidelines

Sand course etiquette and rules Course foot ware: Considerable effort goes into making the brown putting surfaces comparative to grass putting surfaces. To respect the grounds staff and fellow competitors, every entrant must wear a flat soled shoe as shown in the examples below. Entrants failing to adhere to this requirement will be asked to seek the proper foot ware or will be withdrawn from the tournament. Please prepare yourself in advance.

Playing Mats The following guidelines must be followed regarding playing matts:

I. Mats (including the backing) shall be round with a minimum diameter of 10” and a maximum diameter of 12”.

II. Mats shall be made from artificial grass or equialent material, be uniform in thickness, be of even texture, lie flat, and be free of wrinkles.

III. No markings are allowed on the upper surface of the mat, i.e.: shall not have a line on the surface of the mat.

IV. Without penalty, a mat damaged or lost during play may be replaced or two or more players may share a single mat. The damaged or shared mat shall be replaced at the earliest opportunity.

V. Only one side of the mat shall be used during play. (Penalty: Disqualification)

VI. Except as provided in item IV above, only one mat is to be used during a stipulated round.

Details regarding mat placement, ball position, ball movement, etc. can be found in the local rules. Links to the local rules and course guide are provided on the website.

A limited number of mats are available for sale through the Ain Nakhl Golf Club.

Important Times Breakfast: 07:00

Registration: 07:00 – 08:15 Tournament Announcement: 08:30

Shotgun Start: 09:00 All players are expected to tee-off at their designated starting holes at 9am. After the tournament announcements, players will need to proceed directly to their respective starting holes. We will have volunteer valets available to drive players to their starting holes. Priority will be given to those players further away from the clubhouse. This will be a walking tournament, however carts will be provided, If available, for players with a proven medical condition. Player’s should arrive at their starting holes, ready to play, within 5 minutes before his starting time.

Failure to tee off with 5 minutes of your allocated start time will result in a penalty as defined by Rule 33-7.

Penalty: The penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes in stroke play. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification.

Scorecard Each competitor will be provided a score card containing the date, their name, starting hole, and handicap during registration. The Committee will be responsible for the addition of scores and the application of the handicap recorded on the score card. The competitor will be responsible to ensure that the correct hole by hole gross scores are recorded on the card, the accuracy of their handicap, and signatures of marker and player.

Unsigned and wrongly filled out cards will be an automatic DQ after review by the committee.

Decision on Ties In case of ties, the winner will be determined on the basis of the following:

1. Best score for the last nine holes (holes 10 through 18). 2. Best score for the last six holes (holes 13 through 18). 3. Best score for the last three holes (holes 16 through 18). 4. Best score on the 18th hole.

Cancellation Policy

Notification to withdraw from the tournament MUST be made no less than 72 hrs before the tournament begins. This policy is NON-NEGOTIABLE.

No refunds will be given for NO Shows.

Suspension of Play In the unlikely event that play is suspended, the following guidelines should be followed:

Players between holes: Players must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play.

Players on hole: Players must discontinue play immediately, mark their ball position and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play
